@jadeincinema I did not even think about this, but it is even true in this film as that was the last day Jong-su saw Hae-mi. Once she leaves with Ben after Jong-su says she is acting like a whore, Hae-mi disappears.

@jadeincinema I also felt that Ben's house felt very big, spacious, organized, and modern. Through his house we could see that economically he was much better off compared to Jong-su and Hae-mi. We also see this through his car compared to Jong-su's car.

Honestly, Burning confused me a lot. One thing I was curious about was the makeup in Ben's bathroom. Is this supposed to symbolize something? (2:16:43) We see Ben putting the makeup on the new girl and I just don't understand why. Does anyone have any idea?

Hae-joon is often putting eye drops in. I felt like this was showing that Hae-joon was trying to see things more clearly. We see him doing this right before he is about to examine something (ex. a body, the car with the phone left inside). He is trying to focus and notice things.

Something that stood out to me was the wallpaper in Seo-rae's house and later seen on the notebook. The wallpaper looks like both the sea and the mountains which was a constant topic/theme in the movie. I also found this interesting because in Park Chan Wook's other film Oldboy..

One thing that stood out to me was the fact that half of Park Gangdoo's hair was blonde. I was wondering what the purpose of his hair being blonde was? It made him stand out and be easily spotted. I also found it interesting that at the very end of the film his hair was all black

@JatRed33 This scene reminded me of COVID after quarantine. We all are wearing masks and the minute someone coughs everyone looks at them like they have the virus. This scene also showed how scared the people were of the virus which made it feel ironic when its revealed there was no virus
