A young person can learn from an elder.
An elder can also learn from a young person.
That’s not disrespect.
That’s called progress.
Maybe we should stop teaching young people to simply obey and start teaching them how to think.🥱🙌
There is something we need to discuss.
In Uganda, questioning an older person can easily be interpreted as disrespect. You can make a perfectly reasonable argument, but the moment someone realizes you’re younger, the conversation changes
Okay… but does being older automatically make someone right? 😂
Age gives you experience.
It doesn’t give you immunity from being wrong.
Our parents and grandparents deserve respect, absolutely. But respect shouldn’t mean blindly accepting every belief, tradition or decision.
This is not a barracks. Civilians are citizens, not soldiers under command. Public discourse is part of civilian life, and people have a right to ask questions and discuss matters that affect their country.
Are you God?😁 only God can stop us from talking. We are Ugandan citizens, please stop intimidating and threatening us. This country belongs to all of us, not only to your family and friends. You may kill some of us, but eventually your reign will come to an end.

@mkainerugaba You should actually lead by example by tweeting in Kiswahili. Actually should have made this tweet in Kiswahili. Great leaders lead by example 🤔😏.
Since Uganda’s independence in 1962, power has never changed hands through voting. The military is trying to continue that disturbing pattern by pushing Museveni's son as the next president. https://t.co/zGSZiqGyKU
