"Prioritising UK trained doctors for publicly funded training is not inherently unreasonable.
What’s harder to defend is the lack of advance planning and communication for the international medical graduates (IMGs) already in the system"

@wesstreeting The BMA also said people who have 2y of experience should be considered. We have worked hard to secure interviews and work hard for the NHS. Do you think anything can be done for us?
@wesstreeting Mr Streeting, I implore you to think of IMGs already in the system who have significant NHS experience but don't have ILR. Majority of IMGs have more than 2y NHS experience and are on Skilled worker visas. This bill sidelines them completely. Please make sure this is considered.
NEW: we need to talk about NHS staff retention.
At a time when Britain’s healthcare system is acutely short of workers, *1 in 7* UK-trained doctors are practising overseas. No other developed country is like this, which immediately tells you there’s a problem.
Let’s dig deeper:
My family and I spending our first night in Bute House after today's parliamentary vote. A special moment leading my family in prayer in Bute House as is customary after breaking fast together.
Young boy w/ acute onset quadriparesis with areflexia, admitted to ICU with "GBS". You happen to glance at Urine Bag. something is off! The old urine is darker!? The patient is squealing with abdominal pain. Relatives tell you- seizures in the past

21 year old Manoj(name changed) had fainted at college and taken to my friend, a physician. A veteran, he resuscitated him and did a complete physical exam with history. The BP of this boy was 210/120 mm Hg, not only hazardous but also very unusual for his age. A thread;
When your two achievements in life are being born and giving birth.
I mean, imagine believing "first baby born to a sitting female PM in office" is some sort of an achievement.
