After nearly 24 hours of sustained search operations involving around 450 personnel of the Manipur Police, CRPF, and Assam Rifles, assisted by sniffer dogs and forensic expert teams, the mortal remains of six persons were recovered this afternoon. The deceased are believed to be among those taken hostage from Leilon Vaiphei on 13 May 2026.

Necessary legal formalities are being carried out by the police, and the investigation is underway.

Six Naga individuals, who were kidnapped by Kuki narco-terrorist groups currently operating under the Suspension of Operations (SoO) agreement with the Government of India, have been found dead. The bodies of the six victims are being transported to RIMS for post-mortem examination.

Ground sources report that the six innocent Naga were tortured and dismembered by the Kuki National Front (KNF-P). The bodies have been handed over to the Assam Rifles.

The Kuki National Front (KNF-P) is operated by Semtinthan Kipgen, the husband of Nemcha Kipgen @KipgenNemcha, Deputy Chief Minister of Manipur of the BJP (@BJP4India).

🚨 Hello Manipur Police,

How many more controversial and unverified social media posts will be allowed to circulate before action is taken?

For months, social media user Laljohn Haokip has been posting content and allegations related to the Manipur conflict that many have questioned as misleading, inflammatory, or unsupported by verified evidence.

In a state already torn by ethnic tensions and violence, the unchecked spread of unverified narratives only deepens mistrust, fuels division, and undermines efforts toward peace and reconciliation.

Freedom of expression is a fundamental right. However, it does not extend to the dissemination of misinformation or content that may further inflame an already volatile situation.

If any individual is repeatedly sharing false or misleading information, appropriate legal scrutiny should apply regardless of community, status, or affiliation. The law must be enforced fairly and consistently.

The people of Manipur deserve facts, accountability, and equal application of the law—not selective silence.

Will the authorities investigate these concerns, or will such content continue to circulate unchecked?

EVEN THE DEAD ARE NOT SPARED: A HUMANITARIAN TRAGEDY UNFOLDING

The tragedy unfolding in TM Kasom goes beyond the loss of life and the constant threat of violence. It has now reached a point where people can no longer carry out one of the most sacred and basic human responsibilities, burying their dead in peace.

A villager who passed away due to illness could not be taken to the village cemetery for burial because of the continued threat of firing and attacks by the Kuki terrorist. Fearing for their safety, the family and villagers were forced to dig a grave just outside their home and lay their loved one to rest there.

The inability to access one's own village cemetery is a stark reminder of the fear, insecurity, and humanitarian suffering faced by ordinary civilians. Funeral rites are not merely traditions; they are expressions of dignity, respect, faith, and humanity. When people are prevented from burying their dead in their ancestral burial grounds, it reflects the severity of the crisis confronting the community.

The right to mourn, to bury the dead, and to conduct funeral rites without fear of violence is a fundamental human concern that must be respected under all circumstances. A society has reached a painful and dangerous point when its people can no longer safely walk their loved ones to their final resting place.

This is a ground report video.

On 18th April 2026, around 2:35 PM, Kuki militants gunned down two Tangkhul Naga civilians while they were returning home from Imphal. The incident occurred between Leingangching Village and TM Kasom Village.

The victims were Mr. SW Chinaoshang, an ex-Naga Regiment personnel, of Tashar Village and Mr. Yaruingam Vashum of Kharasam Village.

In this ground report video, Kuki militants in the mountains of the contiguous Kuki villages ambushed the Tangkhul Naga passengers.

Kuki militant-sponsored CSOs, such as Kuki-Zo councils, issued a statement claiming that their militants were not involved. However, the bullet trajectories and the locations of the attack also contradict the Kuki-Zo councils’ claims.

This video is presented as proof to counter the Kuki ancestral claims.

Right-thinking citizens must condemn this inhumane act by the Kuki militants and their supporters.

India Today NE reported Kuki-related news 64.40% as twice as Meitei-related news and about 18 times Tangkhul Naga-related news.

Since the ethnic conflict began in Manipur, there have been numerous claims and counterclaims that mainstream media outlets such as India Today NE @IndiaTodayNE have become tools for advocating Kuki militants and showing sympathy toward Kuki refugees. Our team reviewed their web portal and searched for the keywords “Tangkhul,” “Meitei,” and “Kuki.” We analyzed how frequently these terms were reported. We then compared the results with Ukhrul Times @ukhrultimes , an independent regional digital news outlet.

Result:
India Today NE appears to prioritise Kuki narratives more highly than Meitei or Tangkhul Naga narratives, while The Ukhrul Times covered them more evenly, with Kuki-related news slightly higher.

Staged Provocation and Fabrication: It has become evident that the reported attack at Mongkot Chepu was a staged incident designed specifically to disturb the peace of our public meeting and to maliciously provoke enmity between our volunteers and security forces. This "blame game" is a tired tactic that has been employed repeatedly since the onset of the conflict in 2023 to mislead the authorities and the general public.

Whose taxpayer is funding the Kuki Militants?

On 28th August 2025, the Government of Manipur wrote a letter to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India, for financial reimbursement and advance release of funds for Kuki Militants under the Suspension of Operations (SoO) Agreement.

1. The state requested the release of approximately ₹25.91,02,800 (crore) to cover expenditures up to January 2022.
2. The state sought an additional advance sanction of approximately ₹31.09,40,800 (crore) for the period from February 2022 to February 2024.
3. Under the SoO Agreement, more than 2000 Kuki Militants with full arms are active.
4. More than 14 camps in the Hills district of Manipur.
5. Monthly stipend of Rs 6000 (Approx) to 2000+ Kuki Militants.

On the contrary, a number of Kuki terrorists are reinforcing in the Litan areas, while Tangkhul Nagas are addressing internal issues.
