Mark Carney lies so hard. Only the oil companies are turning a profit on this big fat $40 billion government handout to them. The public eats the cost and the continued cost to our climate. Fuck @MarkJCarney
Canadians will officially never recoup the costs of ***TMX*** and the government is going to drive the orcas to extinction for ANOTHER oil pipeline.
Isn’t Carney supposed to be a great economic brain or something??
Why are we killing the whales for nothing?!
Russia and China share a 4,200 km border. The longest land border between any two major powers.
Here's what the West accidentally created:
Russia has: oil, gas, grain, minerals, rare earths, nuclear technology, military hardware, space tech
China has: manufacturing, consumer electronics, machinery, infrastructure, batteries, textiles, pretty much everything else
Everything Russia needs, China makes. Everything China needs, Russia has. And they ship it over land. No naval routes to block. No sanctions that work. Just trains and pipelines.
The West spent 70 years trying to keep them apart. Then forced them together in under 3 years.
Power of Siberia 2: 50 billion cubic meters of gas annually straight to China. No Western middlemen.
Trade in rubles and yuan. No dollars. Can't sanction what you're not part of.
Russia sells energy, wheat, minerals, and weapons to China. China sells phones, cars, machinery, and infrastructure to Russia. Complete loop. Self-contained.
Western policy for decades was: keep Russia and China competitive, not cooperative. Make them compete for influence.
Sanctions did the opposite. Total economic integration.
Now think about what this becomes:
Two nuclear powers. Combined population 1.5 billion. One has all the resources. One has all the manufacturing. Sharing a land border. Operating outside Western financial systems.
The world hasn't seen this before. Two countries that have everything they need from each other. No dependency on the West. No vulnerability to sanctions. Just direct trade over the longest shared border on earth.
The West built this partnership by trying to destroy Russia.
That's the part nobody wants to talk about.
@Glenn_Diesen is my go to analyst on European geopolitics. He is one of the few experts not beating the war drums that are destroying Ukraine and drawing Canada inevitably into a catastrophic war with Russia.
The Norwegian media is uniquely ridiculous in its smear campaigns. When I tell people abroad about the brazen and lazy propaganda, they often assume I am exaggerating.
This week there have been two more smear pieces published about me. The first story in the media is about my tweet on the results of Russia’s parliamentary election, in which I wrote: “Big win for United Russia. President Putin's party, United Russia, won 57.83% of the vote in the parliamentary election, which is a significant increase from 49.8% in 2021”. In short, I merely stated the election results, which are important as United Russia now has a majority in parliament. The newspaper reported that I was “cheering” Putin’s victory and “congratulating” Russia. Another newspaper wrote that I was spreading Russian propaganda because I made the election seem legitimate.
Another absurd story was published today with the headline: “Several cases against Norwegian Russia researcher”. The article is about accusations submitted to my university regarding an alleged breach of ethical research practices, which is intended to give the reader the impression that my research and publications have violated research ethics standards. What the newspaper does not mention is that anyone can send a letter with accusations to the university, and there is no shortage of radical activists seeking to silence academics. However, these accusations mean nothing when there is no substance to the accusations, and for that reason these accusations did not lead anywhere. However, such accusations are catnip for journalists who engage in smear campaigns and do not mind misleading their readers.
The newspaper cites a smear piece in the complaint to prove that I may have breached ethics standards: I had cited US Ambassador William Burns (who later became the CIA Director) as he had written in 2008 that if NATO attempted to pull Ukraine into the NATO orbit – Russia would possibly intervene military even though this is not something Russia would want to do. In the smear piece against me, it is claimed that Burns did not imply anything of the sort and he did not even use the word “intervene” (https://t.co/wou97L7vYj).
However, anyone can go into the cable to read that Burns wrote: “In Ukraine, these include fears that the issue could potentially split the country in two, leading to violence or even, some claim, civil war, which would force Russia to decide whether to intervene… Experts tell us that Russia is particularly worried that the strong divisions in Ukraine over NATO membership, with much of the ethnic-Russian community against membership, could lead to a major split, involving violence or at worst, civil war. In that eventuality, Russia would have to decide whether to intervene; a decision Russia does not want to have to face” (https://t.co/XwqX2tyJF6).
The propagandists are citing their own smear pieces as evidence. However, it does not matter that all these accusations are built on lies, because from now on journalists can refer to me as the academic who has been ‘accused’ of spreading propaganda and violating ethical research standards. The process is the punishment, so it does not matter that the accusations have no substance.
The most absurd smear piece came last year, when one of the largest newspapers wrote that I had been exposed for participating in an “influence operation.” In reality, I had attended a conference devoted to the 200th birthday of Immanuel Kant in his place of birth, Kaliningrad. My speech, published on my Substack (https://t.co/kLP0Gwu98f), was about the crisis of modernity and questioning the durability of secular morality, yet the journalist insisted that the conference was actually about confronting NATO in the Baltic Sea. The evidence published to prove this was a secret influence operation was a list of foreign guests with the headline “List of possible participants of the event for the Baltic region.” However, it was written in Russian, so it probably looked very incriminating. The timing of the article was interesting as it was more than a year after the conference, although I had just run for parliament, and I had been caught in a large media campaign to discredit me.
For context, it is important to note that in Norway, every single member of parliament is in favour of sending weapons to Ukraine, and none are calling for diplomacy with Russia. All the newspapers repeat government talking points and smear any dissent. At least in countries like Germany and France, there is opposition. The complete lack of dissent is believed to reflect their “moral clarity,” as opposed to authoritarian means of keeping the war going.
Arguments are never discussed, instead the norm is personal attacks and simplistic rhetoric denouncing critics of NATO’s policies as “pro-Russia” and “anti-Ukrainian”. The vast majority of Ukrainians want a negotiated settlement, yet the media label me “anti-Ukrainian” for suggesting that our government should open diplomatic channels with Russia to resolve the dispute over the European security architecture. Meanwhile, these self-proclaimed “pro-Ukrainians” consistently ignore the will of most Ukrainians, and when they see the manpower shortage, their response is to push for deporting Ukrainian refugees, lowering the conscription age of Ukrainian men, or calling for the forced conscription of Ukrainian women as well. The war propaganda and smear campaigns in this country are characterized by laziness, aggressiveness, and arrogance.
@Glenn_Diesen The Canadian media and government is exactly the same. It is dominated by globalist, war-profiteering, Zionist, anti-Russian propagandists. Thank you Glenn for bravely speaking truth and sanity.
🇾🇪🇸🇦|The blood spilled at Al-Sabeen Hospital will not be in vain: When Saudi Arabia bombs a maternity hospital, Yemen has the right to strike back at Riyadh.
Saudi bombing near Sana'a's Al-Sabeen Maternity and Children's Hospital, the rescue of children from the rubble by the Yemeni people, and the hypocrisy of those who ask, "Why bomb Saudi Arabia?"
📍 October 3, 2026, Sana'a. The area surrounding Al-Sabeen Hospital for Maternity and Children was targeted by Saudi warplanes.
This was no "accidental strike." This was not "collateral damage near a military target." This was a direct threat to a maternity hospital, a facility packed with pregnant women, newborns, and sick children.
The attack occurred during the hospital's busiest hours. The force of the explosions shattered ward windows. Mothers ran through the corridors clutching their newborns. Doctors and nurses evacuated patients amidst thick smoke. Hundreds of pregnant women, premature infants, and inpatients fled in panic.
Yemen's National Commission of Inquiry into Alleged Violations of Human Rights has classified the attack as a war crime and a crime against humanity. The Commission noted that this is part of a strategy within the Saudi-led aggression to systematically destroy medical infrastructure and spread death and disease among the Yemeni people.
Saudi Arabia targets a maternity hospital. And then, some people ask: Why do you bomb Saudi Arabia?
💀 To those asking "Why bomb Saudi Arabia?": Look at these images.
You ask: Why does Yemen target Riyadh? Why bomb Yanbu? Why bomb Aramco?
Look at Al-Sabeen Hospital.
Look at the pregnant women terrified by the explosions. Look at the newborns crying in the thick smoke. Look at the children cut by flying glass. Look at the doctors and nurses running through the corridors. Look at those buried in the rubble.
This is Saudi Arabia's version of "counter-terrorism": Bombing maternity hospitals. Bombing markets. Bombing weddings. Bombing prisons. Bombing water towers. Bombing civilian homes.
Since the war escalated in February 2026, Saudi Arabia has launched over 1,410 airstrikes and missile attacks against Yemen, targeting civilian facilities in six provinces: Sana'a, Saada, Taiz, Hajjah, Amran, and Ibb.
And then you ask: Why does Yemen fight back?
🛡️ Yemen’s Counterattack: Not "Escalation," but Self-Defense
When Yemeni armed forces target Aramco facilities in Riyadh, Yanbu, and Dammam, it is not an "unprovoked provocation." It is a direct response to an aggressor that is bombing maternity hospitals in Yemen.
Brigadier General Yahya Saree, military spokesman for the Yemeni armed forces, stated clearly:
"This is a response to Saudi attacks on Sana'a and other occupied areas."
"We used ballistic missiles and drones to target an Aramco oil facility in Riyadh, scoring direct hits and igniting fires."
"This is a case of blockade for blockade, escalation for escalation."
Yemen has the right to defend itself. Yemen has the right to fight back. Yemen has the right to bring the war to the aggressor's capital.
When Saudi Arabia bombed Al-Sabeen Hospital, the West remained silent. When Yemen bombed Aramco facilities, the West screamed "escalation." This is a double standard. This is hypocrisy.
🔥 To those who ask "Why liberate your own country?": Please answer this question
You ask: Why does Yemen liberate its own country?
Because Yemen belongs to Yemen.
Not to Saudi Arabia. Not to the United States. Not to the Islah Party. Not to the "hotel government." Not to any foreign power.
The Yemeni people are liberating their own land. They are driving out Saudi mercenaries. They are purging the corruption of the "hotel government." They are expelling the aggressors from Taiz, from Sana'a, and from every occupied village.
If that requires targeting oil facilities in Riyadh, then oil facilities in Riyadh become the target. If targeting the Yanbu refinery is what it takes, then the Yanbu refinery becomes the target.
For Saudi Arabia will not stop at UN resolutions. It will not stop at diplomatic statements. It will not stop at condemnations from the "international community."
Saudi Arabia will only stop when its own oil facilities are burning. It will only stop when the night sky over Riyadh is illuminated by missiles. It will only stop when the storage tanks at Aramco refineries explode.
@coreyhoganyyc The last pipeline the Liberals built, TMX, cost $40billion and is bringing in $1billion per year tax revenue. You do the math on ROI for us taxpayers while the oil companies make bank. Plus we're all paying for climate change that's burning everything.
@tparsi They're striking a balance of maintaining pressure, not turning the world against them by creating too much hardship, and building relationships in the Gulf. Unlike the US, Iran moves cautiously and looks more than 1 move ahead.
In ‘NAZA,’ the documentary in which two dozen Israeli military personnel admit to committing war crimes and genocide in Gaza, soldiers likened the ongoing slaughter of 73,000 Palestinians, more than a quarter of them children, to playing video games. “I wanted to leave ten minutes in,” a retired lawyer said after watching it at IFC Center. “It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever seen.” She hoped everyone would watch it.
That sentiment has been a recurring theme in reviews. Over the next two months, ‘NAZA’ will continue its rollout to theaters across the U.S. In late November, ‘NAZA’ will begin streaming for free on ‘The Guardian’’s website, allowing it to reach an even bigger global audience. The film’s popularity has led to intense criticism from pro-Israel and pro-Palestine factions alike. On both sides are those who want the anonymous IDF personnel identified — so that they can be charged with either war crimes or, perhaps, treason. And on both sides are those attacking the Israeli filmmakers, Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor, for telling the story from their country’s vantage point.
‘NAZA’’s goal is to expose the inner workings of a genocidal system, says Ben Reiff, Abraham’s editor at +972 Magazine, which published many of the initial investigations built upon in the film. “The idea is that it can help build cases for accountability on a much bigger scale than would be true of trying individual soldiers in a handful of cases when actually thousands of soldiers and the highest levels of state have overseen and ordered this campaign of annihilation,” he says.
Whether the film can be used to advance the case for genocide at the ICJ or assist in issuing arrest warrants for war crimes at the ICC, however, may be more complicated than convincing viewers. Read Rachel Corbett’s full report: https://t.co/uUdCjpbhrk

The United States committed a war crime by attacking and sinking Iran’s frigate Dena in international waters off Sri Lanka.
The Dena was returning to Iran after participating in India’s International Fleet Review and naval exercises.
The crew explicitly declared the vessel unarmed and on a training mission in its final communications just before the attack.
The U.S. submarine USS Charlotte fired a Mark 48 torpedo at the Iranian frigate, sending it to the bottom of the Indian Ocean.
A second strike was launched minutes later to murder surviving sailors already fighting for their lives.
More than 120 Iranian sailors were killed.
Sri Lankan authorities ultimately had to conduct the rescue operation and recover survivors and bodies from the sea.
This was not a battlefield thousands of miles from civilian eyes.
It happened in international waters, off the coast of Sri Lanka, against an Iranian vessel returning from an officially invited naval exercise in India.
The United States attacked it anyway.
This was a war crime.
The world must not allow Washington to decide that international law applies to everyone except itself 🇮🇷
@Glenn_Diesen@SpecialAgentA Work harder. Accept more austerity. Enlist to go fight Russia. This is what the Billionaire class needs from the workers. Fuck that.
