Bengaluru is often mocked for traffic jams, but Gurugram the so-called “Millennium City” recently left people stranded for over four hours at the same spot. This isn’t just congestion; it’s a collapse of urban governance. Poor planning, bad road design, and weak public transport make the situation worse. But citizens aren’t innocent either. The “one person, one car” culture has turned roads into moving parking lots. Instead of using buses, metro, or carpooling, most choose to sit alone in their cars while complaining about jams they help create. Traffic chaos is not fate it’s failure. Failure of vision, accountability, and leadership, but also a failure of people to change habits. Until authorities build smarter infrastructure and citizens act responsibly, both Bengaluru and Gurugram will remain trapped in their own gridlock.

Why doesn't the govt @BBMPCOMM @BBMPCOMM put up huge dedicated bins in such places?
The ppl will atleast drop the garbage in those tanks.

@vivekanandahr A majority of the traffic is bcoz of IT. We had an excellent solution in the form BMTC busses that used to ply to tech parks (like manyata and ORRCA). IT companies used to give away bus passes encouraging BMTC use. That took a hit during covid n we entered this vicious cycle...

Of course everyone should pay their due tax, but what's the motivation? Your shoddy work? Unfinished flyovers?

3.49 Lakh citizens out of 20.5 Lakh have not paid their #property tax. Out of which 1.73 Lakh are chronic defaulters and 1.76 Lakh are current year defaulters. In total they owe Rs 390 Crores to BBMP.

All notices, SMSes, IVRS Calls, personal calls, attachment notices have failed to make these chronic defaulters to pay. Even OTS they did not avail and are deliberate and chronic defaulters. For many many years they have not paid property tax. Letting such citizens off is totally unfair to honest tax payer. Anyone speaking for these 10% chronic defaulters are standing against 90% honest tax payers and against public interest. BBMP is clear and determined to collect the property tax as per law.

Please support BBMP morally in its drive against these persistent and chronic tax defaulters.

In places where traffic can be very bad ppl prefer metro.
Bluru metro is very well planned in that sense. It caters to routes tat see max traffic.
