The court is erasing Banksy's mural just like it's erasing our right to protest.
It only took 48 hours for the Royal Courts of Justice to scrub out a @Banksy showing a judge striking down a protester with his gavel.
Silencing a work of art about silencing protest? Maybe it was a little too close to home.
Today’s the day! Listen in today at either 7:50 AM or 9:25 PM to hear Vianet Djenguet present Cool Earth’s Radio 4 Appeal.
In rainforests around the world, deforestation is threatening the communities and wildlife, and contributing drastically to climate change. But where we work, 99% of the rainforest is intact despite loggers regularly offering to buy the trees.
Because of your donations, rainforest communities don’t need money from loggers anymore, they now have everything they need. Donations keep rainforests standing.
So, if you want to support people whilst protecting the rainforest, and fighting the climate crisis, please donate to our appeal!
📻 Listen on 92-95 MHz FM or BBC Sounds.

This time next week, Vianet Djenguet will be representing Cool Earth for our BBC Radio 4 Appeal.
Here’s Vianet visiting Wabumari, a local community in Papua New Guinea that Cool Earth partners with. After spending time with the people we support, Vianet has seen firsthand the challenges that come with living in the rainforest and will be sharing his insights during the appeal.
Make sure you listen in to find out more!
📻 Sunday, 6 April 2025, at 7:50 AM or 9:25 PM on BBC Radio 4
Indigenous peoples protect 30% of the Amazon, helping to lock away 460 million tonnes of CO₂ each year. That’s more than the UK emits annually!
Next week, you can help protect more rainforest and store even more carbon. For Earth Day, every donation to Cool Earth will be doubled. That’s twice the impact, at no extra cost to you. Let’s do this. 💚🌎
Living in balance with the rainforest is vital for Indigenous peoples. 🌳
Our partners, ONAMIAP and OMIAASEC, are working to reforest native species within Indigenous rainforest territories. Protecting the rainforest is vital for preserving ancestral knowledge, safeguarding cultural identity, and ensuring a sustainable food source for the Indigenous communities who call it their home.
Native species once threatened by climate change are now being restored in key communal areas, including borders and springs, to support both biodiversity and community resilience. 💚
Just an Amazon rainforest appreciation post 🌳 🍃
These images were taken in the remote village of Cutivireni in the Peruvian Amazon. The first image shows the community's school under stars and moonlight 🌟🌙

At the end of busy week I’m reflecting on the highly partial coverage devoted by the media to different issues. Massive coverage this week on a farm demo, but a far larger demonstration on Nature in June got hardly anything. Both about land. Why might that be? https://t.co/2Zj1G1PWr6
This is what one whole year of our Basic Income pilot looks like 💚
There’s a lot of talk globally at the moment that it is time to give money directly to people on the frontline of the climate crisis.
At Cool Earth, we’re not just talking about it – we’ve been doing exactly that for 17 years. And in 2023, we refined our approach and launched the first ever Basic Income pilot for Indigenous communities in the Amazon rainforest.
Already, this UN backed pilot is showing significant impact – not only for the wellbeing of the participants but also for the health of the rainforest.
I was pleased to join @blueearthsummit & speak with @MaryAnnOchota on the importance of indigenous wisdom in shaping our approach to sustaining life on Earth. I explained the work of @coolearth & our efforts to empower communities to defend their ancestral rainforest territories.
After a 150 year absence, we have successfully reintroduced pine martens to #Dartmoor! This is the moment that one of the #PineMartens left its release pen, ready to explore Devon's woodlands.

I've been excited about this basic income pilot since 2022. We already know a UBI-like program in Indonesia reduced deforestation by 30%. This 2-year pilot will evaluate how rainforests can be saved by UBI by directly reducing Indigenous people's poverty.
"The pilot’s been very good. Trees are no longer being cut down, people are preserving the trees."
