There are many reasons this occurs. Some individuals are more vulnerable due to intellectual deficits, tendency towards compliance, fear, etc. How many innocent youth/adults are victims of this? #SUSocialWork

@emilydoyleSU Part of the problem is our communities lack the resources to address mental illness in our youth and for so long it goes untreated or unaddressed and unfortunately an incident occurs or the youth has a behavior that results in incarceration. We need more resources! #SUSocialWork

@Jessphelpss I agree! The amount of risk health care workers take on a daily basis to make sure our communities remain healthy is heroic in itself. The fact that most of them make a little over minimum wage is an unfathomable thought.

@SheenayAdams I completely agree! Some people go through life without having people in their corner or having someone advocate on their behalf and that in itself can be stressful. Connecting someone to resources can make all the difference in their life.
