Andhra Pradesh has approved a massive 512 MW Green Integrated AI Data Centre in #Visakhapatnam, strengthening the state’s ambition to emerge as a major AI compute & digital infrastructure hub.

The project has been classified as a Mega Project under Andhra Pradesh Data Centre Policy 4.0 (2024–29), which specifically targets attracting advanced AI-enabled data centres and expanding the state’s data-centre capacity.

• ⚡ Power infrastructure support through APTRANSCO
• 💧 Treated water supply
• 🛣️ Road connectivity through APIIC
• 💰 Stamp-duty exemption capped at ₹16 crore

This is significant because AI infrastructure is increasingly becoming a strategic asset. Large-scale AI workloads require enormous computing power, reliable electricity, cooling, connectivity and high-capacity data infrastructure.

With multiple hyperscale and #AI data-centre investments moving into the Visakhapatnam–Anakapalli region, Andhra Pradesh is positioning itself to capture a larger share of India’s rapidly expanding AI, cloud and digital economy. Recent state approvals also include a proposed 1,000 MW, ₹85,200 crore data-centre project in Anakapalli.

Council of Scientific and Industrial Research-National Aerospace Laboratories (CSIR-NAL) unveiled three indigenous micro and small gas turbine engines in New Delhi.

The three engines are NJ-05, with a thrust of 5 kg; NJ-50, with a thrust of 50 kg; and NJ-100, with a thrust of 100 kg.

@IndiaDST said, the engines have been developed to address critical requirements for indigenous defence technologies. These compact propulsion systems are envisaged for applications such as tactical unmanned aerial vehicles, drone interceptors and compact missile systems.

A New Milestone in #NariShakti 🇮🇳

In a pioneering initiative towards strengthening women’s operational capabilities in India’s counter-terrorism architecture, the NSG Training Academy, Manesar has commenced the 1st Mahila Commando Conversion Course (MCCC) for women personnel of State Police Forces and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs).

The intensive 12-week course is designed to develop physically robust, technically proficient and operationally ready women commandos through rigorous training in physical conditioning, weapons and marksmanship, tactical intervention, hostage rescue and other specialised facets of counter-terrorism operations.

The initiative goes beyond individual training. By extending NSG’s specialised counter-terrorism expertise to women personnel from different Forces, the course seeks to build a wider pool of trained operational capability, promote common professional standards and strengthen interoperability across India’s security architecture.

On completion, these women personnel will carry enhanced skills and operational knowledge back to their respective Forces, contributing to stronger institutional preparedness and a more distributed counter-terrorism capability across the country.

The 1st MCCC therefore represents not merely greater participation of women in security duties, but empowerment through operational capability—preparing women to undertake demanding specialised roles and contribute effectively to the evolving challenges of internal security.
