The whole case illustrates a deeper divide in how modern people view the human reality.

On the one hand, are those who, like these women, attribute actions to hormones and, basically, chemicals. Molecules banging around. For these people, there actuality isn’t any evil at all.

On the other hand, there are those who believe in the soul or self that is ultimately the prime mover of the human being, including most religious people. This is not to deny that God has placed limitations on soul to manifest itself perfectly, as He has made it susceptible to the bodily passion and satanic whispers. I would argue that for those of us who believe in the soul, there is such a thing as evil, and it should be punished according to God’s command and as a deterrent to others, lest they too also succumb to whispers and passions. For us also, this highlights the importance of prayer which is a protection against such things.

There is a propaganda machine that makes Americans see Muslims as a threat. It’s not complicated and it doesn’t matter what choices Muslims made or could have made or who they aligned with (they shouldn’t align with any political party). American Jews feel threatened because the majority of them support Israel and the world hates Israel. These are not revelations in 2026.

I wish I had been educated in the Greek and Latin classics as you have obviously been. I am of course familiar with the similar tradition in Islamic works in Arabic. It’s a vast ocean of knowledge and virtue. But since I was born and grew up in the West, I am disappointed that this was not part of educational curriculum here. May God preserve you and increase you in light and love. Please persevere in bringing your excellent writing to us! I haven’t some across many that do the same.
