The ARDEP (Automotive Rapid DEvelopment Platform) project is comprised of two boards: the ARDEP V2 main board is based on an @ST_World STM32G474VE Arm Cortex-M4F microcontroller for motor control and features CAN-FD and LIN transceivers, while the PowerIO Shield features 6 outputs and 6 inputs supporting up to 48V and 3A per channel.

The firmware is based on @ZephyrIoT RTOS and supports UDS (Unified Diagnostic Services, ISO 14229). The software and hardware have been developed by Frickly Systems GmbH in collaboration with Mercedes, which uses the board in its open research vehicle.

Limix Dynamics unveiled Tron 2 in late 2025, a flexible robot that can switch between dual-arm, bipedal, and wheeled-leg modes.

In wheeled-leg mode, it can carry payloads up to 30 kg, move across tough terrain, and recharge automatically for longer operations.

In bipedal mode, Tron 2 uses visual input to climb stairs step by step and adapt to complex environments.
