🇺🇬 Two teenage sisters, Amina and Shamila, in western Uganda narrowly escaped their burning home after their Muslim father, Muhamud, doused the building with fuel and set it ablaze while they slept, less than two weeks after they converted from Islam to Christianity.
Muhamud had previously told his daughters he would act “to fulfill Islamic law since they had rejected Islam” by becoming Christians. The girls said they awoke surrounded by flames and realized their lives were in immediate danger.
With the normal exit inaccessible, the sisters said they removed bricks from a wall, created a hole, and escaped through it. The fire destroyed almost everything they owned, including their mattresses, clothes, and other belongings. Christian neighbors subsequently came to their aid and alerted local leaders.
“The fire consumed our shelter but did not consume our faith and hope in Jesus Christ,” Amina said afterward.
@BalaamBarugahar Thugs continue to claim life. But why not nip it in the bud. Take a case of Buwenge Mpya in Kamuli. Young men spend all day smoking weed in the open. They do not work. How are they surving? Is Kamuli police waiting for them to murder before they arrest them?
@PoliceUg reports are usually made very early, however, when a canine is required to help find the culprit, police will not release the canine until 100k has been paid.
@PoliceUg we are asked to part with 100k before a dog is sent. This means the thieves will always walk free and do whatever they want. Police does not respond until the money is paid.
PRAY🙏: A 25-year-old Ugandan pastor was killed hours after participating in a public Christian-Muslim debate where two Muslim women reportedly converted to Christianity.
Witnesses said Pastor Bernard Mulongo was threatened afterward by Imam Hassan Musa, who allegedly told him, "You deserve death" for leading Muslims to Christ.
Later that evening, after a radio interview, armed men on motorcycles stopped Mulongo and his friend. The friend escaped, but Mulongo was captured and later found dead with multiple injuries.
Police are investigating the murder, and Musa is considered a suspect but remains at large. Mulongo is survived by his wife and two young children.
