The claim that this proof of life is only has a 0.3% of being wrong is NOT CORRECT. The researchers have modelled the data and come up with a 3 sigma detection event. However this is missleading as the model could be wrong.
When you tell your kids you are going to see Jurassic Park, do you tell them you are seeing a moving about dinosaurs? Is that accurate? Or is it a movie about genetically modified birds with "dino" dna, and frog dna, and a bunch of other dna in the newest ones? This is a philosophical question. Not a scientific one.

Everything from the smallest subatomic particle to the entire galaxy is evolving. While everything apparently dies or disappears in time, the truth is that it all just gets reconfigured in evolving forms. Remember that energy can’t be destroyed—it can only be reconfigured. So the same stuff is continuously falling apart and coalescing in different forms. The force behind that is evolution.
For example, the primary purpose of every living thing is to act as a vessel for the DNA that evolves life through time. The DNA that exists within each individual came from an eternity ago and will continue to live long after its individual carriers pass away, in increasingly evolved forms.

1.Erodes Public Trust
Misinformation corrodes confidence in scientific institutions, experts, and the peer-review process. Once trust is lost, it’s hard to restore.
2.Pollutes the Knowledge Ecosystem
False claims—especially from charismatic or credentialed individuals—spread faster than corrections, creating long-lasting cognitive residue.
3.Delays Scientific Progress
When energy is spent debunking, fewer resources are available for real research and education. It diverts curiosity into dead ends.
4.Encourages False Equivalence
Pairing unvetted ideas with expert opinion in a “debate” format gives the illusion of legitimacy to fringe or fabricated theories.
5.Misguides Policy and Public Behavior - misinformation influences decisions that can harm society on large scales.
6.Amplifies Through Virality
Platforms reward engagement, not accuracy. Sensationalism travels; nuance stalls.
