As much as I love being a cochlear implant user, certain aspects of the experience (for me, anyway) are consistently frustrating. Like hearing just well enough for people to think I have normal hearing ability when I really don’t. What do I mean by that? These are a few examples:
It's raining in SoCal! And I just heard thunder for the first time since I moved here over 3 years ago! This is as exciting as it used to be when we got snow in TX! Yes, sometimes I'm easily amused.
