Bands don’t succeed. Just statistically. So after the surprise indie success of our album Take This To Your Grave, I was sure there was no way but down from there. I was certain we couldn’t possibly match the success we’d had with that album. So I barely bothered considering it as a possibility, I just went in to write and record an album I enjoyed. I told my parents “I swear, just one more semester off and then I’ll go to college.” When “Sugar, We’re Goin Down,” premiered on MTV’s TRL I could tell that I probably wasn’t going to make it to college after all.

Happy 20th anniversary to From Under The Cork Tree, the album that changed everything. You turned it into something so much bigger than us, and for that we’re forever grateful.

We’re working on some cool things to keep the celebration going later this year, but more on that later. Here’s to the next chapter 🌳🖤.

In the spring, I adopted a dog. My roommate/landlady didn’t like her and made me give her back. So I moved out. And now I’m getting my dog back on Saturday.

@grizzlypolaris I work in IM and we’ll get referred a cat for an ultrasound who’s like 15 and hasn’t eaten in 5 days and the owners will still ask! Like we’re about to find raging lymphoma in your cat… not to be too dark, but we’ll def trim their nails when we make your clay paw 😬
