Find and deport individuals affiliated with the Islamic Republic regime, not Iranians who completed compulsory military service in Iran and now oppose the Islamic Republic government while living in Canada.

Iranian women and children are being harmed here in Canada because of Iran’s compulsory military service law. This time, the injustice against Iranian women is not happening in Iran, but in Canada.

Affected by immigration policy due to compulsory military service are in urgent need of humanitarian intervention. Many are unable to return Iran, while in Canada, having fallen out of legal status, they are deprived of even their most basic rights.

Victims of forced conscription should not be treated the same as those who chose to join a terrorist organization.
Today I joined members of the Iranian-Canadian community on Parliament Hill to demand that the government stop targeting conscripts and deport real IRGC terrorists.
Many of these conscripts have been among the most vocal opponents of the IRGC.
Conservatives have already shown the government a simple legislative fix to this problem. Thus far, Liberals have failed to adopt that fix.
Canada must establish clear guidelines separating people forced into military service from actual IRGC members. Compulsory service is not proof of allegiance, membership, or a security threat. Don’t punish victims.

My wife and I came to Canada six years ago. Now, my wife is being punished because of Iran’s mandatory military service law, which I was forced to fulfill in Iran. Iranian women are being punished even outside Iran. #ConscriptAreNotMembers
@smeurrens@hq_cpc@GarnettGenuis Once again, innocent Iranian women are being punished because of Iran’s mandatory military service laws. But this time, Iranian women are facing these consequences not in Iran, but here in Canada. Thank you for standing with us.
Borderlines Podcast #235 - IRGC Conscripts Face Deportation. @hq_cpc MP @GarnettGenuis has a Solution.
Canada designated Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization in 2024. But what happens to people who were forced to serve in the IRGC through mandatory military conscription, committed no crimes, and later immigrated to Canada?
We are joined by Conservative Member of Parliament Garnett Genuis to discuss the growing immigration crisis facing former IRGC conscripts and their families. In 2023, Genuis introduced Bill C-350, which proposed amending Canada's Immigration and Refugee Protection Act to distinguish between individuals who voluntarily joined terrorist organizations and those who were forcibly conscripted.
The proposed amendment would protect individuals who completed only their mandatory service, did not remain voluntarily, and did not participate in terrorism, espionage, or subversion. Despite the subsequent designation of the IRGC as a terrorist organization, this proposed legislative solution was never adopted. The discussion explores why the government has not acted, the consequences of Canada's current inadmissibility framework, the limitations of judicial review and humanitarian relief, and what affected individuals can do to advocate for legislative reform.

6 years of building a life in Canada, my spouse is facing injustice here because of Iran’s compulsory military service laws. Once again, Iranian women are paying the price for a system that never stops hurting them. How much injustice must we endure?

Supporting Canada's decision to list the IRGC does not mean supporting the punishment of people forced to serve under it. We can stand against the IRGC while defending innocent conscripts.
#ConscriptsAreNotMembers
We call for clear, written guidelines for IRCC and CBSA to ensure that mandatory Iranian conscripts are not automatically treated as voluntary IRGC members.

@shuvmajumdar Conscripts are victims of compulsory service, not voluntary members. The Canadian government needs to take a responsible approach and make sure innocent people forced into service are not unfairly targeted. Thank you, @shuvmajumdar
If Canada is committed to mental health and human dignity, I respectfully urge our government to also recognize the fear and uncertainty faced by innocent Iranians who were compelled to serve through mandatory conscription, along with their families.
Compassion and fairness require distinguishing those forced to serve from those who voluntarily joined or supported the IRGC. We ask for a fair and humane approach that recognizes this fundamental difference.
