@chasepeeler Marrying a US citizen does not guarantee a legal status. To gain the right to vote, you have to have LPR status while married to a US citizen (3 yr min.) before becoming a citizen. LPR status is not impossible to get, but not automatic either. The whole process is > 3 years.
