Karine bottles select Iberian peninsula & Rhone grape vineyards that showcase a sense of place in higher elevation soils of the Sierra Foothills AVA & south.
@wblakegray Capitalism is in its' farewell tour. Republicans (or old Dems for that matter) don't know it, but the system is not working for them no matter who they are allowed to vote for. They see a spectacle with white-Christian pandering, gaslighting them to get them out of this mess.
@wblakegray@vinofictions We buy CBD for our Labrador. Calms him down, he was attacked twice as a young pup and is insecure no matter how much we reassure him. Live in Mountain country too. We can also dose ourselves. Works!
@wblakegray I'm pouring a little bit of my 18yr Laphroig SMS out for the microbes that died that day.....Ugh, I probably just killed couple hundred thousand right there. Can't win.
@kevpluck @GretaThunberg Agreed! We should also be careful about calling them trolls or any other name that would cause dualism. We love them but uneducated statements don't need any platform. Great topic that confronts our use of sensationalist media and how they help push less popular uneducated views.
Last fruit of the year came in today. Takeaways from the year for us: early ripening varieties were early, all others almost exact same as last year. Low pH's across the board with some exceptions. Low Brix with fully ripe flavor development. Happy with results so far. #winemaker
Why is every variety "late" this year, but we are picking almost on-point with last (warm/early) vintage. Live in the Vineyard and it will communicate with what is happening. #winelover#karinewine#climatedisruption
Looking at fuel prices today and can't help but think that the low end prices are white wine pH and high end is red wine pH. That is 3.15 for the white and 3.89 for red wine. I do like white wine. #harvestbrain#winemakerthoughts
Seeing mildew in areas we have not seen before.... We do not spray with our good hand-tended canopy management/oversight up here in the higher elevation Sierra Foothills.... but this year is testing.
Just wondering who else has made, tasted, or heard of a dry rose made from higher elevation(2,700+ft) in Calaveras Co's metavolcanic, red granite, and green slate laced soils. It's electric mineral berry dust. Wow
Late-Harvest Zinfandel grown with nominal inputs in high elevation Calaveras County metavolcanic and ancient sedimentary red soils. Fortified to hold off ferm, made with minimal sulphur and French oak aging, nothing else. Unfined and unfiltered. Sexy and natural? You be the judge
Record days above 100 have slowed sugar accumulation in most CV grapes(Grenache doesn't seem to mind too much). These #PetiteSirah on the eastern bench of #Maderacounty are not gaining much sugar but We will still pick them based on acid/pH and ferment whole cluster. #karinewines
Wine can be resilient. Our 90pt (WE) dry 2013 Malvasia Bianca, one exposed to a year of temp fluctuations (60-80+F), the other constant cellar conditions. Both taste and smell great, small differences. None for the worse. Forgive the dirty glass. #goodwinemaking#redoxpotential
