Been working on a small side project called CleanCopy. I’m copying a lot more from my terminal with Claude Code and Codex CLI, and got tired of fixing line breaks and spacing every time.

CleanCopy runs quietly in the background on macOS, automatically cleaning up copied text as you work.

After using it privately for a while, I finally made it public and released it on npm as an open-source macOS utility.

CleanCopy now supports configurable cleanup rules.

Toggle any of the ten rules on or off to customize how copied text is cleaned up. For example, you can remove extra spacing while preserving indentation, or disable line reflow while keeping everything else enabled.

Your preferences apply to both background clipboard cleanup and the clean command, with one-off overrides available when needed. All rules remain enabled by default, so existing behavior is unchanged.

Working with Claude Code and Codex CLI means I’m constantly moving text from my terminal into notes, messages, and issues.

The line breaks from the terminal come along too. So do the extra spaces. I kept cleaning those up by hand before using the text.

That repeated cleanup is what I wanted CleanCopy to take care of. Copy from the terminal, paste where you need it, and keep working.
