1.01 crore passengers recorded to have travelled in March, 2026

CMRL has always endeavored to provide the people of Chennai a safe, efficient and reliable travel partner. A total of 10,197,604 passengers have travelled in the Metro Trains from 01.03.2026 to 31.03.2026. And March 13, 2026 recorded the highest passenger flow per day of March, 2026 with 3,90,306 passengers.

Total number of passengers utilized CMRL Fare products / ticketing services for March 2026 are: 

CMRL offers a 20% discount on ticketing Services like NCMC Card and all digital QR tickets like Whatsapp - ([phone]), Paytm, PhonePe and digital store value pass exclusively available in CMRL Mobile App. Except Single journey Paper QR tickets purchased at ticketing counters.

2026 மார்ச் மாதத்தில் 1.01 கோடி பயணிகள் சென்னை மெட்ரோ இரயில்களில் பயணம் செய்துள்ளனர்

சென்னை மெட்ரோ இரயில் நிறுவனம், சென்னையில் உள்ள மக்களுக்கும், மெட்ரோ இரயில் பயணிகளுக்கும் போக்குவரத்து வசதியை அளித்து வருவதோடு நம்பக தன்மையான பாதுகாப்பான வசதியை வழங்கி வருகிறது. அந்த வகையில் 2026 ஆம் ஆண்டு மார்ச் மாதத்தில் 10,197,604 பயணிகள் மெட்ரோ இரயில்களில் பயணித்துள்ளதாக மெட்ரோ இரயில் நிர்வாகம் தெரிவித்துள்ளது.

அதிகபட்சமாக 13.03.2026 அன்று 3,90,306 பயணிகள் மெட்ரோ இரயில்களில் பயணம் செய்துள்ளனர்.    

2026, மார்ச் மாதத்தில் மட்டும் சிங்கார சென்னை அட்டையை (தேசிய பொது இயக்க அட்டை) பயன்படுத்தி 52,90,363 பயணிகள், பயண அட்டைகளை (Travel Card Ticketing System) பயன்படுத்தி 33,339 பயணிகள், க்யுஆர் குறியீடு (QR Code) பயணச்சீட்டு முறையைப் பயன்படுத்தி 48,73,902 பயணிகள் (Single journey Paper QR /Token 19,19,053; Online QR – 1,33,469; Static QR 2,16,210; Whatsapp - 4,72,773; Paytm 3,35,352; ONDC – 12,71,008; PhonePe – 2,41,012; CMRL Mobile App 71,123; Chennai One App – 2,00,717, Event QR – 13185 ) பயணிகள் மெட்ரோ இரயில்களில் பயணம் செய்துள்ளனர்.   

சென்னை மெட்ரோ இரயில் நிறுவனம், Digital SVP, க்யுஆர் குறியீடு (OR Code) பயணச்சீட்டு, Whatsapp - ([phone]), Paytm App, PhonePe மற்றும் சிங்கார சென்னை அட்டை போன்ற பயணச்சீட்டுகளை பயன்படுத்தி மெட்ரோ இரயில்களில் பயணிப்பவர்களுக்கு 20% கட்டணத் தள்ளுபடியை வழங்குகிறது. மெட்ரோ இரயில் நிலையங்களில் உள்ள பயணச்சீட்டு கவுண்டர்களில் வாங்கப்படும் ஒற்றைப் பயணத்துக்கான காகித QR பயணச்சீட்டுகளுக்கு (Single Journey Paper QR tickets) இந்தத் தள்ளுபடி கிடையாது.

மெட்ரோ இரயில்கள் மற்றும் மெட்ரோ இரயில் நிலையங்களை பராமரிப்பதில் மிகுந்த ஒத்துழைப்பு நல்கிவரும் அனைத்து பயணிகளுக்கும் சென்னை மெட்ரோ இரயில் நிர்வாகத்தின் சார்பில் மனமார்ந்த நன்றி.

Metro Train service will operate from 05:00 hrs to 23:00 hrs with the following frequency:

Peak Hours (08:00 hrs – 11:00 hrs & 17:00 hrs - 20:00 hrs) headway : Metro trains will be available every 6 mins.

Non-Peak Hours (05:00 hrs - 08:00 hrs, 11:00 hrs - 17:00 hrs & 20:00 hrs - 22:00 hrs) headway : Metro trains will be available every 7 mins.

Extended Non Peak Hours (22:00 hrs – 23:00 hrs) headway : Metro trains will be available every 15 mins.

Passengers are advised to plan their journey accordingly.

🚨 Technical fault in TBM pushes back Thiruvanmiyur–Taramani Metro work

Metro tunnelling between Thiruvanmiyur and Taramani is delayed as TBM “Bhavani” undergoes repairs in Mumbai due to hydraulic issues. The rocky terrain needs a specialised machine. Work is now likely to begin only by June after installation.

Corridor 3 already faced delays earlier due to overpriced bids and tender cancellations by Chennai Metro Rail Limited.
