@KakandeAlex@KakandeAlex, help me understand why there's such a fuss over the interest payout. It's not like this is the first time @nssfug is paying interest on contributions. Why do people feel the need to cast such negativity over this specific interest payout?
@katabaazi25 @xtrail40 @SolomonSerwanjj You are right to split the two offices. My question: can an MP elected by a constituency, to represent his/her people's aspirations in Parliament truly understand the needs of his/her people so as to objectively and mindfully debate laws that will eventually affect them?
@kezio_musoke You are wrong..Otherwise MPs shouldn't be contesting amongst the locals. As an MP, your role is first and foremost to the people. Politics will twist it, but you are in service to the people. You are the bridge between the aspirations of the people you lead and the legislation.
@Atukundaisaac1@nilepostnews@SolomonSerwanjj You cannot purport to represent a constituency if you only objective is to debate statute. You cannot claim to know what policy is necessary/relevant if you don't know how it will affect your people. Same reason you start on primary before you join secondary education.
@Atukundaisaac1@nilepostnews@SolomonSerwanjj He makes a good point actually. Being an MP is beyond legislation. It is about ensuring that the legislation speaks to and properly articulates the aspirations of the people who are to be bound by that legislation.
