At a conference on the future grid today, OFGEM confirmed that the current queue on just U.K. grid connections is 500GW

UK current generation capacity is 54GW the intention is to add 100GW of renewable capacity by 2050 so 5x over subscribed 25 years early!

@Ellsworth_Krebs There are some really innovative things we can do with finance! I'm particularly interested in the role crowdfunding could have in local authorities & there's also a really interesting example of how whole street retrofit could help unlock finance that house by house couldn't.
