Madrid itself has notably not blamed Morocco, and therefore it is interesting how this is demanded from other governments.

What the Spanish government has actually said: Sánchez and other Spanish officials attributed the crossings to human trafficking networks that allegedly misrepresented a recent Supreme Court ruling on migrant returns, and Spain has explicitly rejected suggestions that Morocco manufactured the crisis as retaliation for Madrid’s diplomatic reconciliation with Algeria.

Sánchez has instead stressed that his government is working with Moroccan authorities to restore normalcy. Madrid has demanded no accountability from Rabat and avoided the instrumentalisation framing. Moroccan sources have blamed “criminal organisations,” and publicly Sánchez has used similar language.

The EU can hardly attribute a hybrid operation more loudly than Madrid itself, which has actively rejected that framing. That’s the structural difference from Belarus 2021, where Lithuania and Poland led the attribution, and the EU amplified it.

However, I agree that what member states have actually done is closer to the opposite of solidarity and solidarity is warranted regardless of attribution: an external EU border was overwhelmed, and 60+ people died. Morocco holds the same structural leverage over Spain and the EU that Turkey secured after 2016: outsourced border control with no enforcement mechanism behind it. That’s the uncomfortable truth; the EU has built a system in which the instrumentalisation claim almost doesn’t matter, because it cannot afford to act on it either way.

The Chinese government/ CCP is banning customised merch with ANY animal welfare related slogans on them after Wang Wang! This is beyond the pale. I've translated the screenshots of the search results into English (using Google translate).

"Anti-Animal Cruelty” Related Terms Face Search Restrictions on Multiple Chinese E-commerce Platforms

On August 1, some Chinese web users continuously tested three e-commerce platforms—Pinduoduo, Taobao, and Xianyu—by searching keywords such as “anti-animal cruelty stickers,” “anti-animal cruelty,” and “oppose abuse.”

They found that related content could not be normally retrieved on any of them.

When searching these three keywords on Pinduoduo, the page directly displayed “No search results available”.

On Taobao, it similarly prompted “No related items found.”

Xianyu did not directly show no results, but the search results clearly did not match the keywords.

After searching “oppose abuse,” on Xianyu, the page displayed unrelated items like novels and English books; after searching the more complete phrase “anti-animal cruelty stickers,” the platform returned items such as rabbit picture books and animal encyclopedias, but no related stickers appeared."

So it's not enough for China/ Beijing/ the CCP to ban and punish people who display images of Wang Wang or share the horrific details of her case, they want to suppress anything related to treating animals well..... entirely?

Do they deliberately WANT to raise successive generations of zoosadists in China (people who gain pleasure from seeing animals in pain and distress)?

Does the Chinese government deliberately want people to be cruel to animals?

Because that's what we're inferring from this.

If it was custom merchandise with images or words related to Wang Wang, they at least could have used the pathetic reasoning of "well, the case is related to minors. So we are suppressing information or images related to that case for legal reasons."

Banning the customisation of anything to do with animal welfare at ALL? Even the most generic of slogans?

Cynical and sinister motivations are afoot.
