Protection, prey, peace, and prosperity have been key factors in the tiger recovery within India, according to a new Science study.
The results offer a rare opportunity to explore the socio-ecological factors influencing tiger recovery more broadly, the authors say. https://t.co/WgrDH6cwDP

A study published in @FrontiersIn tracked 10 adult cheetahs in restored savanna of 🇳🇦 to see how day/night activity, habitat type & bush encroachment affected their movements.
The study is important for ongoing monitoring during rewilding of #bigcats.

High Five, Kuno!
Female cheetah Gamini, age about 5 years, brought from Tswalu Kalahari Reserve, South Africa, has given birth to 5 cubs today.
This takes the tally of the Indian born cubs to 13. This is the fourth cheetah litter on Indian soil and the first litter of cheetahs brought from South Africa.
Congratulations to all, especially the team of forest officers, vets, and field staff who have ensured a stress-free environment for cheetahs, which has led to successful mating and birth of the cubs. The total number of cheetahs, including cubs in Kuno National Park, is 26.
Gamini's legacy leaps forward: Introducing her adorable cubs!
Threatened Kori Bustard (Ardeotis kori) persist in woodland savanna of #Namibia but are understudied.
We studied seasonal density variation, long term density trends in the context of species ecology, bush encroachment and predation.

Worldwide, grasslands are undergoing substantial changes, putting grassland species at risk. Thanks to an international collaborative effort, we've published new data on the status of the Kori Bustard, a savanna specialist and Africa’s largest flying bird. https://t.co/aBi1gBSDVP

We reviewed the data deficiency, country-wide range parameters, tested meso-predator release hypothesis and introspected the illegal wildlife trade of nine elusive small wild cats in the last 50 years timeframe (1972-2022).
Confirmed: Arizona Game and Fish wildlife biologists reviewed the imagery of a jaguar in the Huachuca Mountains and confirmed that it is a new individual not previously photographed in the state. The video was captured on a trail camera by Jason Miller... 🧵👇
