Why is the @UAW telling other unions to align their contract expiration dates? Because thats how you get a nationwide general strike and actually change the entire corporate narrative to focus more on the working class and less on the ownership class. Thats how we tip the scales.
When you start doing healing work, you'll reflect on your past. You'll look back at things with a new set of eyes. You'll see how your needs weren't met, what you were exposed to, and how you might not have been protected.
Anger is a natural response.
We caretake because weโre desperate to be taken care of for once.
We see the best in people because weโre desperate for people to see the best in us.
We want to protect vulnerable people because we were once that vulnerable person unprotected.
Our younger self always remembers.
Childhood trauma makes intimate relationships overwhelming because our body goes into panic when we get close to someone. It remembers when we got the silent treatment, when we were hit, criticized, shamed, or neglected. So, we push people away even when we want them to stay.
โIโm tough on them because the world will beโ is misguided conventional wisdom.
Children need support, encouragement, and the natural consequences of their actions.
Not: criticism, discouragement, and shaming guised as tough love.
Over and over again Iโve seen this mindset creates adults who: canโt self regulate, are attracted to toxic relationships, and who numb with food or alcohol.
Children need support to thrive in this world.
Good girl conditioning sends a clear message: donโt be too much or want too much. Itโs why so many women tolerate misery.
May we teach young girls to say no clearly and to disappoint people regularly.
May we free her from the generational cycle of being polite & easy.
