โOh wow, I didnโt know you had such depth. Youโre just so happy & bubbly.โ Actual quote from someone who read my screenplay. Cool, thanks. Sure I giggle + love the color yellow...but I will also punch you where you pee. Sooo...depth.
@MindaHarts Thank you for taking time to respond! I wrote 1st novel last year +partway through 2nd but I don't know much about the business side yet (my brain needs to be creative first, then move to business). Looking for resources, answers, thoughts, advice slowly and with a critical eye.
@MindaHarts When did you know your first typescript was ready to be queried to publishers? Or did you already have an agent when you began writing your first book?
@baddestmamajama How so many people quickly "forget" abt the millions who died a few years ago, the thousand still sick, and the unknown physical toll this may still take on so many...it's a lack of empathy I'll never understand + makes me wonder how to trust/find my people in this world.
@lisa_catara Absolutely! I think the middle class is a wild notion these days.
I wish I could connect with others who ๐books & baked goods, maybe have baking/book days at my apartment. Or more green space where we could have community garden time. But even those things take time + money.
@JorCru Yes exactly. The lack of control so many have over the necessities of life (food, water, shelter, job) and the lack of concern/support/understanding from all other sectors (gov, family, friends, neighbors) is isolating and demoralizing.
@ThisisKaia Amanda Quaid is one of the best teachers I 've ever had in over 20 years. She is authentic, kind, and empathetic. She works to bring out the best in all her students and meets them where they are at: https://t.co/vlowkdpC8u
@RandiCee@providence I feel like @CoveredCA & @providence should be reaching out to help us navigate the situation. Does this qualify as a life event so we can change insurance? Who do they accept? How do we access those plans? Why are plans dropping out of exchange?
Why is it not bigger news that @providence is terminating their contract with #blueshieldofcalifornia? Over 100,000 patients will lost continuing care and access to their doctors by the beginning of July.
Navigating health insurance in the best of times is difficult and exhausting. Having to do it every year, on an ever changing exchange that provides less and less but charges more and more is demoralizing.
Many Californians work for small businesses, businesses that help competition, growth and provide jobs. But so many small businesses cannot afford to provide health insurance. Why are you consistently ignoring policy that would help to sustain these businesses and workers?
@sambwrite One of my absolute favorite shows of all time. They managed to blend a weekly procedural, with an overarching story line, provide great character growth and such poignant themes. Beautiful from beginning to end. Also, the reason I now love physics!
@MotherJones My intelligent, empathetic & research-minded partner can't find a job (3yrs more than 200 applications), after being forced by the world/pandemic to change careers in his 40s but these cockroaches just keep on raking in the cash and power. It is so exhausting and disheartening.
And just because people fall off Unemployment rolls after 26+ weeks of unemployment does not mean they are no longer unemployed. Maybe someone smarter than me, ๐ @ewarren@katieporteroc@MayorOfLA can get to the bottom of why there are so many job vacancies that never get filled
Jobs report, Job Creation #'s, + Unemployment #'s do not tell the whole story. Just because there are jobs does not mean they are being filled. So many reports of unemployed people applying to jobs for over 2years w/o bites. Perhaps AI hiring tools are an issue to access?!?
