For those tuning in, this suit is in response to Republican legislation that Florida passed in 2019 to effectively implement a #poll tax & override Amendment 4 for felony #votingrights restoration, which Florida voters had passed in 2018, with an overwhelming 64.55% in favor
The Supreme Court just denied our motion to vacate a stay, leaving Florida’s poll tax in effect while the state’s appeal continues. Arguments are set for mid-August, and the appellate court will likely decide the appeal in time for November’s elections.
