@HJudeBoudreaux I drove cross country twice, from Boston to San Diego (10 days) and back (a month). The month-long road trip was one of the best experiences of my life. Favorite places: Joshua Tree Natl Park, Grand Canyon, Roswell, New Orleans, Savannah. Hoping to someday do the northern route.
@behaviorgap I ordered flowers an hour ago for a colleague of mine that is scheduled for a c-section next week for her first child. Then I saw this post! 💐
In past years I’d be up before 5 am to volunteer at this annual breakfast. Even though the event is online this year, it’s no less inspiring to hear the stories of the heroes among us. #chills#RedCrossMonth#redcrossofma
We're just 30 minutes away from our Boston Heroes Breakfast where we will honor those working hard during the pandemic to keep us all safe. You can still join us at https://t.co/2HSP37PFIa
Thanks to @AnnaleeKruger for joining me for this discussion. No one likes to think about their mortality, but planning for getting older and the care you’re going to need is crucial... not just for your own well being, but for the peace of mind of your loved ones as well.
Watching a House rerun episode from 15 years ago about a 9 year old girl with terminal cancer & just kept thinking that her single mom is probably going to wind up declaring bankruptcy because of her treatments. Easy to gloss over the financial reality of cancer in a TV show.
I believe that the 5 am weekend shift I worked in college making coffee & selling croissants ($14/hour back in 2003) taught me more about responsibility, client service, patience, problem solving & leadership than any internship, even though it didn’t look as great on my resume.
I’m O+ and just scheduled my appointment to donate in March as soon as I’m eligible again. This will be donation number 2 in 2021. One of my goals for the year is to donate more. #savinglives#redcross
Type O+ and O- blood are the most in-demand blood types, helping patients facing life-threatening conditions & emergencies every day. Schedule your donation: https://t.co/h1e20K4xzQ
If you have a long term care insurance policy, please tell your kids and/or potential future care-givers/care-arrangers of its existence. Don’t keep it a secret! Make sure they know what you have and how to file a claim when the time comes.
If you think you’ll maybe need care in the future, or have a loved one you might need to care for someday, tune into my discussion with @AnnaleeKruger tomorrow! As difficult as these conversations can be, it is SO much better to have them early BEFORE a crisis occurs.
@danielcrosby Such mixed feelings about the pre-washed/cut veggies. Convenient? Yes. Way more expensive than buying a whole zucchini and slicing it myself? Heck yes. Am I more likely to enjoy eating it when someone else has chopped it for me or when I chop it myself and saved $5? Not sure.
Making a list of my 2021 goals for the year. Donate blood 4 times is on the list, so I just scheduled an appointment to give a pint. I don’t believe in resolutions, but I am a big fan of (SMART) goals! What is on your to-do list this year? #savinglives#opositive#freecookies
