The Tooro Kingdom Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Calvin Armstrong, together with senior officials from the Kingdom, has officially launched Phase Two of the Tooro Kingdom Youth Economic Empowerment Program in Kyaka.
Together with colleagues from the Tooro Kingdom, I officially launched Phase Two of the Tooro Kingdom Youth Economic Empowerment Program (TOKYEP) in Kyaka County.
This landmark event was marked by the planting of coffee and cocoa mother gardens, alongside the establishment of modern seedling nurseries that will produce one million high-quality seedlings in each of the Kingdom’s nine counties per annum.
This ambitious initiative is designed to boost agricultural productivity, create sustainable youth employment, and strengthen household incomes across Tooro.
The newly commissioned facility will also host a state-of-the-art hatchery and a fully equipped ICT Centre, ensuring that young people gain access not only to agricultural opportunities but also to digital skills, innovation, and modern enterprise pathways.
This milestone marks a bold step towards an economically empowered, self-sustaining, and technologically ready generation of Tooro’s youth.
During the event, I expressed gratitude to the President of Uganda, His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, for his unwavering support to both the project and the Kingdom. The President’s continued commitment to empowering communities, strengthening local economies, and fostering youth-led development has played a pivotal role in making the initiative a reality.
@toorokingdompm @KingOyoOfficial @QueenOlimi@KagutaMuseveni@ObukamaBwaTooro@DailyMonitor@nbstv@ntvuganda Exciting developments for the Tooro Kingdom! The plans for the international stadium and airport are fantastic steps towards boosting tourism and enhancing our local economy. It's great to see collaboration between the kingdom and the government.
