One thing this World Cup and the Argentina discourse has revealed is football fans think rigging means you put the ball in the back of the net for the team you’re being claimed to support.
There are various ways a referee can influence a game to favour a team in a tournament, and if you have referee friends that are willing to be truthful to you, they’ll attest to it.
Some instances are listed below:
•Giving 50/50 fouls to a team
•Not giving obvious yellow cards so the players can keep up their aggressiveness/tackles, or if it affects the team in the next round
•Interpreting the laws of the game in ways that can favour a particular team in different scenarios
•Ki!!ing the momentum of the opposing team
•Inconsistent penalty criteria for and against the team
These and many more we’ve seen go in the favour of the Argentina side in the last two world cups, and it doesn’t help that the FIFA president has publicly made statements that depicts a soft spot for the team getting these favors, including the leadership saying it would be an honor for Messi to win the World Cup in Qatar.
•The penalty against Poland (absurd).
•The Messi handball against Netherlands going unpunished.
•The Argentine player smashing the ball into the Netherlands bench not sent off
•Di Maria dived and got a pk, but Thuram got a yellow in the same match for same reason (Dybala and Di Maria laughed about the dive later on)
•Croatia and Netherlands felt cheated last time, Egypt feel so this time too (not a coincidence if we’re being truthful).
•Egypt being denied a VAR check for the McAllister pull, in the same game where a goal was canceled for same reason (they didn’t even show the replay intentionally), just bookings for the Egypt bench.
Many more in-game moments that can be pointed out too.
This is the world stage, not the NPFL, no referee will boldly make decisions that are blatantly biased all through the 90 mins, but there are a million other decisions that can determine the outcome of a game, and it’ll be unfair or untruthful to say we’ve not seen that happen for Argentina.
Everybody complaining can’t be Ronaldo fans, let’s stop gaslighting people.
I would have gently mentioned the laws you are breaching but I have seen you double down in the comments. You are an abusive, horrible person with God lover in your bio. Abusing a 23 year old is illegal whether you get her parents consent or not. She is not a child. And she has rights under the law You cannot also withhold her pay pending a test result that you want to force her to do. People like you are the problem of Nigeria. If you treat a cleaner like a personal slave whose body you have control over, what will you do when you have actual power?
Everything you have done is illegal, even in a lawless country like Nigeria. And it is because too many poor people do not realise the rights they have that abusive people like you can commit crimes and even openly talk about it.
It is always the ones with "god" in their bio that are the worst human beings. With godly people like you, who needs demons?
For the avoidance of doubt, here are some of the potential laws you have breached:
S37 Nigerian constitution, right to privacy.
Also, under Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, health information is "sensitive personal data" that requires her informed consent to collect or share, not her parents'. Under the Act, “sensitive personal data” means personal data relating to an individual’s —
(a) genetic and biometric data, for the purpose of uniquely identifying
a natural person,
(b) race or ethnic origin,
(c) religious or similar beliefs, such as those reflecting conscience or
philosophy,
(d) health status,
(e) sex life,
(f ) political opinions or affiliations,
(g) trade union memberships, or
(h) other information prescribed by the Commission, as sensitive personal data under section 30 (2)
Under the Labour Act 2004, wages are earned for work performed. If she's shown up and worked, withholding pay as a condition of getting test results is coercive leverage that could expose you to a wage claim (but because you know she is poor and will not pursue this you can brag about your abuse online).
May your god have mercy on your soul.
VAR didn't review two clear fouls inside the Argentinian box (against Egypt players) before Enzo Fernández's goal. Why? A foul on Martínez overturned Egypt's second goal. Why does the treatment have to be so one-sided? This is completely unfair. FIFA, be ashamed. Be genuinely ashamed. This is Robbery. Egypt have been robbed.
I genuinely don't understand it. If a goal is ruled out because of an accidental standing on a player's foot, how is Salah not given a penalty? You can't have it both ways. Either both are fouls, or neither are. That's all fans ask for consistency.
Either the rule is mild contact is to be expected and so Egypt’s goal is valid and this is not a penalty OR all contact leads to a foul, in which case this is a penalty and Egypt’s goal was invalid.
The rule can’t be “a foul is whatever fills Gianni Infantino’s pockets more”
Madame Celeste Amarilla,
Red cards are not overturned by political phone calls. They are overturned by rules, evidence and independent bodies. If a U.S. President intervenes with the FIFA President — and a player is suddenly cleared before a World Cup knockout match — the question is unavoidable: Quo vadis, FIFA?
Football must never become a playground for political power. #FIFA #WorldCup #GianniInfantino #DonaldTrump
@thecableng@realFFK He spent the whole article talking about how they ( so called elites whose parents ran the country at that time) spent Nigeria’s money recklessly, then wondered at the end how we got here.
Annoying to see that people don't know what "perfect GPA" means.
1,680 applicants clicked "Yes" to the question "Do you have a perfect GPA (e.g. 4.00/4.00, 5.00/5.00, etc.)?"
Yet, out of this number:
920 hold a Second Class Upper
207 a Second Class Lower
22 a Pass and
12 a Third Class
How can you have a Third Class and a perfect GPA at the same time??
@AdewuyiRoseline Learn the phonetic alphabets and cram them. So ROSE for example is Romeo Oscar Sierra Echo. It makes things easier in those situations.
