If you are being mandated to sit through PD that tells you essentially everything you’ve learned and experienced is wrong and the majority of your teaching should be whole group, one size fits all, scripted lessons- it’s not about growing you- it’s about growing their product.
Literacy educators- how much longer are we going to allow people/groups/organizations who have NEVER taught children how to read tell us the “one way/best way” to teach children how to read? The undermining and negating of evidence, data, and experiences is getting old….
I’m alarmingly close to a very cool number of followers. To celebrate, I’m giving away these beautiful picture books to a follower who likes & shares. Entries close after 1/9. US only. #giveaway

Reminder for teachers creating video lectures or screencasts. Research shows:
1. Videos should be short. 6 minutes or shorter. 8-10 min max. Chunk it into topics.
2. Seeing your face in the screencast increases engagement. Students want to SEE us.
