@SenSanders Yes, but such tax revenue do not really pay for anything. In our economy taxes serve a different functions, one of which is not allowing an individual or a corporation to rival the government. (Ref. S Melton, "The Deficit Myth". )

@ewarren The US monetary system is capable of providing the funding, (ref. S Kelton, "The Deficit Myth"). Taxes serve other objectives. Federal taxation and federal funding shouldn't be conflated, by doing so you empower the deficit hawks.

@wbmosler Inflation by definition is the increase in the cost of goods, perhaps when looked at from another perspective, it's seen more as a decrease in wealth. The cost of butter going up by 5%, or the value of your portfolio declining by 5%, which instills more fear, and to whom?

@StephanieKelton Question. Who determines or how is the inflation rate determined now? How is the "natural" unemployment rate determined now? Inflation is a major concern under MMT, but it does seem to be non-arbitrary function of resources. Are we under resourced?

@QuantaMagazine Adjectives might help. For example, the definition of consciousness has been plagued with a similar problem. However, Solms, in his recent book "The Hidden Spring" offered a wonderfully clarifying solution.
