@MentalHealthCop@toniwriter Same in ambo, considered a personal matter, regardless of the circumstances eg, loss of trust, or potential power imbalance (mentor/trainer with the student they are responsible for mentoring/signing off)
@MentalHealthCop@Douglas_Quaid55 we know ed is not the best place. “they are safe at home, so appropriate for ooh home services”ask about SH with knife “sharps at home is acceptable risk” ask about the risk “if you disagree, they are too unsafe to be at home and need ed.” No alternatives offered or available
@MaxRovensky When working at airport (handling said airline) i explained how they’re agreed to certain terms/conditions when booking and checking in (in that instance about baggage) the response I got “do you expect me to read all that”.
@Mike08384263@MentalHealthCop issue in midlands is between amb/pol control. Eg person in custody, decision to 136, pol request ambo to convey to “hospital” amb control won’t commit until pol ready to travel, equal reluctance to send officers until ambo assigned. All to avoid the perception of waiting
@MentalHealthCop Im all for the principle behind rcrp, to reduce the stigma and perceived “criminalisation” of MH, but there is a time and place for police involvement; not as the default first line maybe, but also not blindly insisting police should have I part in incidents which involve MH
@MentalHealthCop amount of times as a para we are sent by police, because it’s “mental health” thus not for a police response; what it actually is, ongoing domestic/neighbourhood issue when the individual has askd the police to help & has described it is “getting to them” “making them depressed”.
@jameswmullen Or when successful at the application/sift+ telephone interview. then require a face2face interview, assessment day, induction day, e-learning and then 3 days worth of “observation” shifts before even thinking about being paid. no indication when in the process you’re successful.
@MentalHealthCop@DrJohnABaker 5yr frontline nhs, 3 yr police prior. Can count on 1 hand how often I’ve got to MH ambulance and/or a non ed place to take individual in need. Even difficult getting access to 136 suites, usually just go to ed. Last successful non ed transfer was for a s135/s2 into mh hospital.
@MentalHealthCop Very common occurrence in west mids, people passed from police to MH/wmas to deal because it’s “mental health”, even they called to follow up on a previous incident, any sniff of MH has it bounced, the times I’ve been sent to someone for the to say why are you here I need police
@MentalHealthCop Add, capacity varies, assessment only as good as when it is performed. As a para I’ve completed a capacity assessment prehospital, then get to hospital things have changed and a new assessment is required. Would never say yes/no to capacity for something prior to my involvement.
@dannarebb@offbeatorbit Doesn’t matter how rare, they are the one thing that genuinely terrifies me. As a paramedic I get strange looks whenever I’m asked what’s the one thing I hope to never encounter.
@Plusnet over a week now and still not heard anything about when my broadband will be activated. Quick enough to take payment but not so quick to deliver
@McDonaldsUK@UberEats I have done so, but refusing to accept responsibility is shameful, obviously once money is made no one wants to accept responsibility
@mithrasangel@questauthority Even if you don’t earn interest, it still works out at around $640 month (if you only spend that from the $500k it would last you 60 years)
