Today was #seniorrecognitionday for the Hawks baseball team. It was also #teacherappreciationday.
The players invited their favorite teachers to the game as way of showing their sincere appreciation for their mentorship.
The game ended 1-0 on a Ryan Walsh walk-off home run.
Students in Mrs. Meucci's class are learning about some of the many contributions of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders by using an interactive MAP. Maybe try it yourself! https://t.co/AxMlpSFsH8

Earlier today, Ben Franklin’s fourth graders walked the red carpet with their favorite books during their Razzle-Dazzle Red Carpet Reading Extravaganza event. The rest of the school cheered them on with their paparazzi cameras. What an exciting way to begin Read Across America!
Today was #jaday at Ben Franklin Elementary School. The students from BPHS spoke to their elementary counterparts about a number of topics, including life as an entrepreneur, how economies work, balancing profits with losses, taxes, supply chains and much more. #bpproud
Classroom inspo for my CKLA geology unit....
Dwayne " The Rock" Johnson
Gotta keep these 4th graders on their toes. Oh, the eyerolls and smiles I get, but they are excited to learn! 🥰

We had a poetry slam today to celebrate the end of our #CKLA poetry unit. Students each performed a poem, and I dramatically read the lyrics from our favorite long division rap. The class sang along with me at the end! My teacher heart is full! 🥰❤️

Read every night with your child! It makes a huge difference. My dude loves history. Now that my class has finished the middle ages unit of #CKLA , I brought a book home to read with him at bedtime. Yeah, it's THAT good.

This is how we kick off the Middle Ages unit in 4th grade #CKLA. Students were so excited about entering through the drawbridge 😆

All week, we celebrate kindness in our class. Students can write "snaps" to each other, then on Friday we meet on the carpet and I read them aloud. Last week, someone wrote this snap as we embarked on week two of our #CKLA pilot.

Going back to the basics as we approach the start of a new year & reimagine what school could be 💭🤔Two learning scientists who were decades ahead of their time… As we navigate rapid social & technological change, nothing is more vital than our humanity. 🧭❤️ #JoyfulLeaders
"That’s how we've always done it." "No one has ever questioned this before." Heard these before? Often, we're stuck in practices merely because they've been done before, leading to continuation of inequitable & exclusionary systems. Isn't it time that we unfreeze and rethink?
@alicekeeler Mathematically speaking (as I encourage my students to say at the beginning of their math explanations- of course in a silly yet sophisticated voice), I notice they are all multiples of 9 in reverse order from left to right.
