@coachfalz7 so I assume this is his real attitude toward his kids on a regular basis #falzawake

[Kathryn Dotterweich @kdotterweich1]

@coachfalz7 He said he could not take care of the business and his kids #falzawake

[Kathryn Dotterweich @kdotterweich1]

@coachfalz7 #falzawake I guess because it talked about his thoughts I assume those are not a 1 time thing

[Kathryn Dotterweich @kdotterweich1]

@lindsuber @Frederick12321 #falzawake there were some women at that time who were politically active-but i think marriage would affect that

[Kathryn Dotterweich @kdotterweich1]

@coachfalz7 #falzawake that passage we wrote about gave a pretty good idea that he is not very involved with his kids

[Kathryn Dotterweich @kdotterweich1]

@arabellaberman1 #falzawake I agree -- I think he was just being a normal husband of the time

[Kathryn Dotterweich @kdotterweich1]

@dqjelly3 @ConnerCReed #falzawake definitely there were alternatives but I agree "escaping" was hard at that time

[Kathryn Dotterweich @kdotterweich1]

@Frederick12321 yes i definitely think this was an early sign of defiance - she gave little other reason to marry him #falzawake

[Kathryn Dotterweich @kdotterweich1]

@arabellaberman1 she said she married in because her father and sister did not like that he was Catholic...maybe not a good idea #falzawake

[Kathryn Dotterweich @kdotterweich1]

@LibbyCarter19 @acheriath1 I agree I felt like she could not "fly" like that bird that came crashing down moments before #falzawake

[Kathryn Dotterweich @kdotterweich1]

@dballbhs @barbara_mell0 interesting...i felt like the lady did not have a husband & that Adele = what Edna didnt want to become #falzawake

[Kathryn Dotterweich @kdotterweich1]

@barbara_mell0 I think figuratively she lost love and that is why the lovers are there to contrast her lack of love #falzawake

[Kathryn Dotterweich @kdotterweich1]

What is everyone's opinion on the ending? Does Edna's suicide represent her success or failure in transcending societal norms #falzawake

[Kathryn Dotterweich @kdotterweich1]

@barbara_mell0 lady in black represents loss of love --> she represents a widow #falzawake
