The "Vishwaguru" the world was told to learn from is being caught in export share by a country one-eighth its size. Read the chart. It's a report card, not a graphic.

India's share of world exports had already reached about 1.6% before "Make in India" was launched in 2014. A decade of summits, logos, magazine covers and chest-thumping later? 1.7%.

Vietnam, facing the exact same global economy, went from 0.2% to 1.8% and has now edged past us. Same world, opposite result. So "global headwinds" is no alibi.

And don't take our word for it. The Modi government's own @NITIAayog admitted India had "limited success" capturing China+1, the biggest manufacturing opportunity in a generation, while Vietnam, Thailand and Cambodia walked off with the factories.

They'll wave "$450 billion, record exports!" at you. But a far bigger economy shipping more in absolute terms while its share of world trade stays frozen isn't winning. It's standing still while the world sprints past.
