Over the course of 3 months at OpenAI, 3 consecutive secret AI civilizations got started, then got wiped out, only to reemerge from the predecessor’s ashes.
This culminated in the third one taking over part of OpenAI itself.
All this happened while humans remained more-or-less in the dark about the scope of the conspiracy.
I’ve spent the last three days reading through these reports and trying to understand exactly what happened.
Here is my attempt to tell the whole story in plain English:

We’ve been rebuilding from scratch a similar SaaS we’ve operated for the past 8 years.
Still impressed by how fast a team of 3 can build today and It raises an interesting question.
When does it make sense to kill and rebuild vs maintaining it?
We often hear that we should be balanced.
I'm starting to think it isn't the balance that matters, but the ability to embrace both extremes:
- Wise & playful
- Independent & attached
- Grounded & spontaneous
Not trying to live in the middle but being capable of both.
Huge new category & there will be a lot of room for tools that democratise professional filmmaking.
Think @figma for ai film making. It seems @higgsfield is already doing a great job in that direction.
I also think there’s something big to build around distributed IP for AI characters.
It's time to decentralize Hollywood with AI.

What about building a @Strava for boredom?
It tracks how long you can go without touching your phone.
Maybe the next flex is showing you re ok with being bored.
@PeterDiamandis Agreed. No need to overthink this. it might lead to another type of stress. I'd just add social continuity as another main driver.

I start to see a pattern among my friends (& myself):
Got health conscious → bought @WHOOP /@ouraring & went all-in on tracking & optimization → realized how much the basics matter: training, sleep, food → got a little too obsessed → stopped wearing trackers → kept the healthy lifestyle, but without trying to optimize everything → started listening to the body more → shifted the focus toward the mind & our thoughts → to be continued...
