I remember adding a phone and new laptop to my annual budget some years ago and the finance guy said no. I just asked to talk to the directors about it and got them that same month
The purest form of love in relationships is reciprocity. Not one person constantly understanding, sacrificing, checking in, communicating, forgiving, and carrying the emotional weight while the other simply receives it all. Love starts dying when effort becomes one sided.
People say love is patient, but I think love is also mutual. Mutual care. Mutual respect. Mutual reassurance. Mutual effort. Nobody should have to beg to be treated with the same energy they naturally give.
A relationship cannot survive long on potential, excuses, or one person “trying to hold things together” alone. Eventually exhaustion replaces affection. You start feeling lonely beside someone who claims to love you.
The strongest relationships are usually not the loudest or most dramatic ones. They are the ones where both people consistently choose each other in small everyday ways.
Crystal Palace have become the first club to offer an aftercare programme for released players that don't have a future in football.
The three-year aftercare package will support released academy players in making a way of life, outside of football.
This is a fantastic thing for the club to do, hopefully the first of many. 👏
TechTrends Magazine Edition 2 is out and what a cover it is.
A massive shoutout to Gunjan Dhingra of Network International for gracing this edition. Honoured to feature your voice.
Here's the big idea from our cover story:
East Africa doesn't have a #connectivity problem anymore. It has an infrastructure challenge.
The question is no longer whether people can transact digitally, it's whether the systems behind those transactions are resilient enough to power entire economies.
Scale. Trust. Stability. That's the new frontier.

Grateful for a major milestone in my journalism journey.
I had the honor of making my debut as a Business News Anchor on #PrimeEdition on KBC Channel 1, alongside @TomMboya24 and @MuchumaOdim.
Stepping into this role is both humbling and exciting.
There’s no dignity in asking if it’s not strategic.
Matthew 7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
Tolerating always turns to resentment. At first, you call it patience, then love. But what it really is, is self-abandonment. Every time you swallow a boundary, excuse a pattern, or silence your discomfort, something inside you keeps score.
And eventually, the bill comes due.
Countries like Sweden have reduced smoking to just 4.5% among Swedish-born adults by making safer alternatives accessible and affordable.
Meanwhile, male smoking rates in Kenya are three times higher.
Shouldn’t we be studying what works instead of restricting options?

You really need to stop trying to see the best in everyone and understand that sometimes, people actually mean it when they hurt you. At best, they considered their course of actions, couldn’t be bothered about how those actions would affect you, then went ahead to commit them anyway. At worst? They carefully curated those actions to specifically cause you pain.
Yet, there you are, seeing them through the lens of good, refusing to accept that they could be that cruel, quickly offering forgiveness, and therefore, giving them the opportunity to hurt you all over again. Stop it. When people consistently show you who they are with no real remorse or change, believe them and act accordingly. You owe yourself that much preservation.
