On #WorldChildrensDay, we visited Durrës, where our partners @Nisma_ARSIS & municipality have joined forces under #EU4SocialCare to build the 🆕Child & Family Support Hub. This marks an important milestone in 🇦🇱 transition from insitutional care towards community-based care.

Today at the 'Blind Pupils Institute', #UNICEFAlbania enabled the visit of the singer Alban Skënderaj to donate his voice to make an audio album for the children of the institute.
"Sound can go where sight can't!" was the motto that brought together many well-known voices in 🇦🇱.

Every child deserves to grow up in a happy, loving, and stable environment. Today, we joined #UNICEF and Albanian authorities to discuss the transformation of social care institutions into centres for children and their families, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to thrive physically, mentally, and socially. 🌻
Through a €70 million programme for social inclusion, the EU is already helping Albania provide community-based, child-focused services. #SocialInclusion is crucial as the country moves closer to EU accession, and the EU 🇪🇺 remains fully committed to supporting Albania 🇦🇱 in building a future where all children grow up in a safe, nurturing, and caring environment.

Survivors of human trafficking share their stories with @UNICEFAlbania, demonstrating the bravery of all of those fighting to be free.

Today, 1 in 3 victims of trafficking are children. Conflict and other crises expose children to the greatest risk of being trafficked.
