As civilians flee northern Gaza and Israeli strikes, PRIO's @JJensehaugen told @BBCWorld a breakthrough on the diplomatic front is not currently on the table:

"There are some acute diplomatic things that have to happen, and we're of course talking about the hostage release, we're talking about the humanitarian corridors, and one would be talking about a ceasefire.

These are, of course, short-term things but in the current state of affairs, with the heavy bombardment, the order of clearing northern Gaza, I don't see any breakthrough on the diplomatic front as we speak."
