@EMI_Black_Ace@PhysInHistory Not true, irrational numbers just can't have a repeated loop, they can absolutely have patterns and specifically are not required to contain all digits, so obviously can't contain all sequences. 1.01001000100001000001... is irrational
@factory1821@pascal_bornet Wrong, it was a CNN which is essentially the same things we are calling AI today just on a much much smaller scale. It wasn't a simple probabilistic model.
@pickover Neither. They are both equally likely outcomes from a series of flips of a fair coin. Additionally, if you want to try to say one or the other has a pattern, they both appear to. Case 1 iterates through the 4 possible pairs, Case 2 iterates a more obvious pattern.
@headinthebox Of course, in computers, there is actually a finite number of values in this range, and it might matter if you're talking about using this for RNG or other probability calcs. pdf is still 1/(b-a), and doesn't matter what it is at points outside the domain of the variable itself.
@headinthebox You're butting up against a problem with the fact that in computers, there really isn't such a thing as a continuous real RV. In reality, it doesn't matter if it's [a,b], (a,b) or [a,b) and the pdf domain is not dependent on the RV domain. The pdf is 1/(b-a) in all these cases.
@headinthebox (c) - I like it because [0.0..2.0] would mean closed interval to me, which I find to be slightly inconsistent with the definition. (d) would be OK too. I like that (c) and (d) are (maybe) easily changed to mean antiderivative by dropping args if later extended that way.

@NatMacMaster great concert tonight in Kirkland... We were the excited two (me and my daughter) in the first two seats in the house. My little Leahy (11yo daughter) is a now a huge fan! #NatalieAndDonnell@KirkPerfCtr
@dealproc@AzureSupport@scottgu MS will have to give their official RCA, but given that we saw a queue service wildcard cert being used by blob service in our apps, I can't imagine how that isn't the RCA of all the other issues.
Sad day today for the tech industry in Seattle. Mourning the passing of Paul Allen, Microsoft co-founder and true philanthropist and supporter of our area.
