I have loved reading all the submissions for @The_BrokenPlate! You all are so inspiring! If you haven't considered submitting your work to a literary magazine please do. I know our team has loved seeing all the pieces come in!
Does anyone else struggle when explaining what you are working on. I try to have some response, anything to convey a bit of an idea as to what my story is about, but it typically turns into a "but we'll see, that could change" type of thing.
I have enjoyed learning about the collaborative process that comes with writing. I have always been nervous to share stories but when I do the feedback and tips for making a piece better are always worth it. Collaboration really strengthens any work you do.
What are your go to winter books? I like to take it easy with good-humored books like Little Women or Pride and Prejudice. They are a nice break from class work.
A belated thank you to everyone who submitted work to our 2021 issue. We assure you that your work is in good hands, and we look forward to reviewing every piece we received with care.
So excited to see all of the art/photography submissions receive just yesterday! Looks like is gonna be a colorful edition of @The_BrokenPlate this spring
We want to address the rumors.
Rumor # 1: Today is the last day to submit to us.
This rumor is TRUE. You have until 11:59 PM tonight to submit your literary and visual art!
If youβre reading this, take a moment to breathe, relax your jaw, relax your shoulders. Do something that makes you happy today, even if itβs something small β€οΈ
This was one of the most important things I had to learn. It cuts out so much unnecessary exposition and helps get the reader to the heart of your story.
If youβre having trouble getting started with your script, pick scenes from your story you WANT to write -- any scenes -- and write them. #screenwriting
