@Andrewhelling2@AllyFogg@____TJ_______@squatter666 They literally let it play for the most obvious offsides that you can see from your TV screen.. up until the point the ball is dead - so why for a marginal did he get the flag up like a flash?
@lloyd_scragg Thought him and the club were putting off the new contract whilst he got back to fitness but clearly he's been putting it off because he wants out in the summer. I know Pep is loyal but I think it's difficult to make the case to not make Nico G the 6 for rest of the season.
@lloyd_scragg I almost jokingly pregame tweeted you saying, he's pulled out this line-up, because he's gone and he wants to destroy Madrid before club football retirement.. then the game unfolded and I can't think of another reason why he completely changed everything he's stood for for years.
I am grateful to @ZackPolanski and the Green Party for giving me a glimmer of hope in these turbulent times.
Over the last few years, I've found myself waking up in the middle of the night, with a sense of dread. I lie awake and worry about what will happen if Reform win the next election. I didn't expect to be worrying about Britain becoming a fascist country, but that's exactly what has been, almost constantly, occupying a corner of my brain.
I look to America and see what the election of Trump has done to the country. A man who pledged to 'Make America Great Again' and conned people into believing that he was anti-establishment and would stop wars. What Trump has actually done, has been to oversee a huge transfer of wealth to the richest – over $2 TRILLION – and to spark further wars around the globe.
Like Trump, Reform are backed by billionaires.
If you want to know who a party represents, just follow the money. Don't listen to empty words which claim to represent working people or 'challenge the status quo'. Don't fall for the slick words delivered by a bloke that seems like a good guy to 'have a pint with down the pub'. Look at who is giving him money. That will tell you the truth. That will show you whose side they are really on.
In 2024, 92% of Reform's donations came from fossil fuel interests. Since 2023, Reform has received almost £5m from wealthy donors, including those linked to fossil fuels, the financial services industry, private healthcare and tax havens. These backers will be dictating their policy.
If a party is funded by the establishment, it will serve the establishment. Any claim made that it's an anti-establishment party, is simply a lie designed to trick people into voting for a party who, like Trump, will enrich the powerful while hammering the many.
Equally absurd, is the attempt to portray Farage's Reform as the party of 'patriots'.
- What is patriotic about voting against making school uniforms cheaper and free meals for primary children?
- What is patriotic about voting against the Employment Rights Bill which will make 'Fire and Rehire' illegal and extend parental rights?
- What is patriotic about wanting to dismantle our NHS and make people pay for health insurance? (The NHS isn't struggling because of immigrants, but because successive governments have cut over 150,000 beds and closed down 100+ hospitals.)
- What is patriotic about voting against more rights for tenants and renters?
- What is patriotic about voting against measures to improve fairness and rights at work?
- What is patriotic about pledging to slash disability and sickness payments to the poorest in society?
- What is patriotic about pledging to lower the minimum wage for young people?
- What is patriotic about scrapping net-zero targets and increasing dirty energy projects?
I'm guessing, for most of us, patriotism means providing quality healthcare, fair wages, employment rights and housing rights for all British people (regardless of economic status) It means wanting our children to be looked after and fed properly in school. It means making sure all British people who are sick, disabled and elderly, are supported to lead dignified lives. And it means protecting the future of young Britons, by adopting climate-friendly policies to ensure they are not left to face the disasters of runaway climate change. True patriotism is about fighting for the rights of the many, and not the few.
If you want to know how to spot a true anti-establishment party, here are two things to look out for:
1) It won't be backed by tax-dodging billionaires.
2) It will be attacked by the mainstream media and / or ignored. (And it won't be invited onto TV shows every week.)
In the coming months and years, the establishment's smear-machine, operated by their trusty allies (the corporate media), will kick into overdrive, and Zack and the Greens will be relentlessly attacked as dangerous / extremist / fantasists / anti-British / unelectable.
Make no mistake, these attacks are concrete proof that they are ON YOUR SIDE.
If we can remember this, we have a chance of changing this corrupt political system from one which is dictated by elite interests to one which actually represents us, the people. But this will only be possible, if we see though their cynical attempts to divide us by spreading hate and fear.
Pogrund himself speaking, here: Nobody wanted unsparing scrutiny of Starmer, as you’ll all remember so well. That’s how it was, and it’s what everyone thought.
