NEW: The Board of Directors at the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) will formally change its definition of who qualifies as a journalist, to broadly exclude slain Palestinian and Lebanese journalists who worked for government-funded media outlets. Israeli, American, and Ukrainian journalists who work for state-funded outlets or are embedded with the military will remain recognized as journalists, of course.
The move was catalyzed to appease the right-wing Zionist rag The Free Beacon, which has repeatedly accused Palestinian and Lebanese journalists of being undercover militants or used their political opinions or affiliations as justification for their killing by the IOF.
This is a racist scandal of massive proportions for everyone involved, and it makes a mockery of the purported mission of the organization. It is absolutely abhorrent that the organization’s resources are wasted on this cowardly witch-hunt, at a moment in history that is the deadliest for journalists, especially in Palestine and Lebanon.
Obama and the Clinton’s are responsible for this crime against humanity. Liberals will tell you with a straight face that voting for the lesser of two evils is a form of harm reduction as they bomb, destabilize nations across the globe.
America falsely claims our unfrozen assets will buy their agriculture. Interesting. The only crop we're harvesting is what you planted: decades of mistrust. It's organic, abundant, and homegrown. But apparently the US only exports GMO soybeans, broken promises and trash talks.
The U.S. left really does not understand the damage it is doing to the Palestinian liberation struggle.
No serious Palestinian engaged in the struggle for liberation, whether in Palestine or in exile, would ever condemn or denounce the right of Palestinians to resist occupation, apartheid, and genocide by any means necessary.
Yet we are increasingly told that people who do exactly that are part of the movement, and that anyone who challenges them is divisive, unreasonable, or an “op.”
What this actually does is place Palestinians who remain committed to our political principles in the crosshairs of everyone: Zionists, the right wing, the state, and now even sectors of the left. It marginalizes Palestinians, portrays us as extremists for upholding positions that have always been central to our national liberation struggle, and pressures us to abandon our own political consensus in order to accommodate American political sensibilities.
The result is the isolation of Palestinians from our own movement.
And beyond being wrong, it simply does not work. Palestinians have always been told to mute criticism, soften demands, and overlook real political differences with elected officials because doing otherwise might hurt their chances of winning. We are told they secretly agree with us, that they just cannot say it publicly yet, and that once they gain power things will be different.
But the opposite keeps happening. Politicians benefit from the energy and legitimacy of the Palestine movement, then distance themselves from it once they are in office. Palestinians are expected to accept that distance, accept new compromises, and accept the constant narrowing of our politics, all in the name of pragmatism.
Meanwhile, Zionists are free to pressure those same politicians from the right without restraint, while Palestinians are told that applying pressure from our own political position is unacceptable.
If our support is always conditional on staying quiet, abandoning our principles, and never criticizing elected officials, then what is being asked of us is political obedience, and that has never advanced Palestinian liberation.
I genuinely think one of the highest forms of alienation is watching your people’s suffering become an intellectual exercise for people who will never bear any consequences from being wrong.
@GuyAz anyone who actually believes the Witkoff/Kushner presidency did not share the text the Israelis wrote with them is either a fucking idiot, or a liar who is in on the ongoing round of "OMG TRUMP IS ACTUALLY FURIOUS AT NETANYAHU OMG" deception bullshit that's being manufactured
This is so far from accurate, and so harmful. No one is asking for symbolic crumbs. We want our physical homes back, our land back, our trees back. Anyone claiming to be an ally while actively working to misrepresent the most basic, material Palestinian demands is not an ally.

What Israel is doing in Lebanon is unambiguously genocidal against Shias. And it is unambiguously an attempt to reoccupy and even annex a huge part of the country. It’s infuriating that we’re pretending that there’s a ceasefire. And even more infuriating that Western media continues to turn a blind eye to Israel’s endless colonial expansion and insatiable hunger for Arab land.
Every day I wake up angry and I go to bed angry. I have enough anger to pass around to everyone and still have some left over to last lifetimes. Every day I hold onto a little bit extra just in case. But at least I have a bed. At least I have a home. At least at least at least
there was never a "ceasefire". The Israelis and US needed a break to acquire more targets and try to separate Lebanon from Iran, so they started another round of bullshit fake "negotiations" with Trump and Barak Ravid's "A DEAL IS ABOUT TO GET DONE" keeping the oil prices in check as they prepare for re-starting the active phase of the war yet again with another round of assassinations and bombings.
Zionists are running this war, and they say openly and proudly without even bothering to hide it that it's a two and a half year project, meaning the entirety of Trump's remaining term. And that's exactly what they are going to implement. There is no "Trump turn on Netanyahu", there is no "NETANYAHU IS ON FIRE ANGRY AT TRUMP", anyone still pushing that deranged bullshit is either a deliberate liar, or a fucking idiot.
Even if they came out with an MOU or signed a ceasefire, it is meaningless bullshit. They will bomb again. They will keep going until they destroy Iran as a nation and people, until Trump's term runs out. Because Trump is their slave. He is their slave. How many fucking times does he has to show that he is their slave before you finally get it through your thick heads that he will do anything and everything they want, and when there are breaks or pauses in the active war, it's not because he "imposed his will" and "defied" the Zionists, it's because that was the order for him to do.
