I’m seeing this happen. “Let’s be an AI company!” “We want everyone to use AI”…but not if it costs too much” They pressure to ship and the expectation that AI can make everything faster is dangerous. I love AI, but I understand it for what it is: a tool. It amplifies what is already there: bad engineers just ship bad code faster. So how do we encode the good habits of the few? Enforce the practices of the actual craftsmen? That’s what I’ve been working on.
