“In this world, there are things you can only do alone, and things you can only do with someone else. It’s important to combine the two in just the right amount.”
-Haruki Murakami, from After Dark
"Friendship is friendship, and charity is charity. The people who give you charity are never your friends. It is not possible to receive charity from a friend."

Unbelievably saddened by the loss of my dear friend @SusanWojcicki after two years of living with cancer. She is as core to the history of Google as anyone, and it’s hard to imagine the world without her. She was an incredible person, leader and friend who had a tremendous impact on the world and I’m one of countless Googlers who is better for knowing her. We will miss her dearly. Our thoughts with her family. RIP Susan.
@flyosity@stickermule I dont 100% agree but the message at the end saying there are kind trump supporters too kindve got me. I get that but do people on the other side also see democrats in the same light? I think the media has twisted both sides to feel this level of hate
This is a hard day. I am honored to call Jerry a confidant, an advisor and a friend. Connie, my wife, called him my ‘basketball dad.’ He was absolutely my basketball sage: wise, loyal and so much fun. If you were in his presence, you felt his competitiveness and his drive. He cared about everything and everyone. From the first day I met Jerry seven years ago, he inspired me with his intellect, honesty and enthusiasm. He never stopped. I spent a lot of time with him, some of the best times of my life. He always lent an ear, and he always had a quip. He always left me laughing. I will miss him.
Hard to believe that Basketball has Lost 3 Great Hall of Fame players in the past couple of weeks: Bill Walton, Chet Walker ( we went to school together at Bradley U) and now, Jerry West. They say these things come in “threes.” I hope that’s it for a while.
Jo and I are shaken to our roots over the passing of dear friend Bill Walton. I never knew a better, more generous man. Our thoughts are with Lori and the Walton sons. RIP Bill.
