@UDFootballShow@JoshNorris@HaydenWinks@Underdog@UnderdogNFL So I guess normal NFL GM preps for draft by:
1. Send scouts across country
2. Grind thousands of hours of tape
3. Meet w/ players, coaches
4. Combine, pro days
5. Medicals + analytics
6. Fit w/ scheme, philosophy
7. Check Twitter for consensus ranks
How did #Jaguars forget 7?!
NFL teams that make the playoffs employ a GM and entire scouting departments for a year.
But yes, the pick is indefensible because a Twitter dude who watched 7 plays and read opinions from other Twitter dudes had him 30 spots lower.
#jaguars
@ryanmichael@Water_Greml1n The part of the tweet where you (1) left out rushing game as part of the thing the DC is responsible for stopping, and (2) left out W/L as the most important stat.
@GeneFrenette Thanks for helping me feel connected to the Jags even from Atlanta. Always enjoyed your reporting and takes (even when I disagreed with them). Enjoy the next chapter!
@jordandelugo But if it turns out that Jaguars refused to give their first/second choice HC the leeway to choose their own GM, only to give that leeway to their third/fourth choice HC, well…I just don’t know….
