This is totally crazy. Like if the operators of rubygems dot org just decided to expropriate the official Rails gems, hand over control to a new team, and lock the core team out of it. We're in uncharted and dangerous territory for open source now. What a sad sight.

I assumed something had gone wrong with the self service UI at @McDonalds when it gave me order number 000, so I queried it at the till. Turns out it's a genuine order number! I can imagine a conversation somewhere between a developer and a PM discussing the starting number 🤣

@philsturgeon I think the kind of people who are riding in an ancient woodland already know they shouldn't be there, and probably won't take any notice of a few signs.
I see it all too often in a neighbouring SSSI protected woodland. Good luck though!

@tuxmytty @MarkShust @ebizmarts Unfortunately @ebizmarts drop access to their repository when licenses expire. They appear to keep working as often the packages are cached by composer. This has been my experience anyway.
