Teddy Bridgewater should be applauded for what he did for those kids — because I was one of those kids.
We lost our home in a fire started by a candle… the only light we had after not being able to pay the electric bill. I was homeless.
Coach J.C. Pinkney at Frederick Douglass High School took me in when I had nowhere to go.
What Teddy did wasn’t just generous — it was necessary. Because when kids don’t have someone to step in, they often look for other ways to survive… and it usually doesn’t end well.
Salute to Teddy. Salute to the real ones who step up when no one else will. 💯🙏🏽
