Sol Kerzner built these landmark hotels circa 1970/80's. Tsogo Sun has operated these hotels for decades, now eThekwini Municipality has announced that they want to give opportunities to "new hoteliers" to manage these hotels🤯

The lease for these hotels is coming up for renewal 31 December 2025. Tsogo Sun and the municipality have reached a stalemate in negotiations because the municipality does not feel that Tsogo Sun's rental offers are in line with current market values.

The municipality therefore wants to open up the bidding floor to a public tender process. Shock kicks in when I hear the words "public tender."😲 We all know what happens when inexperienced companies manage properties in a sector that they know nothing about...

What has happened to the Durban beachfront? This is bad news for property values. Durban is supposed to be one of our top #tourist attractions being that it is a coastal city and has the best climate all year round. I've also read that the sea water is unsafe to swim in and making people sick.

Where is the future planning? Cry beloved Durban.
